Bianchi Alloro Is it worth restoration
I have this Alloro that is in a bit of rough shape. Has all the original components. I stripped it to clean up. I was thinking of sand blasting and repainting.
Worth the effort or should I scrap. Frame is 58cm.

if you were to "do everything" you would quickly get "underwater" vis a vis what market value would be post work
if mine, would do the mechanicals and maybe touch up the paint as best possible and retain it as a rider

For use it would be fine to do basic rebuild to get it riding nice and some paint touch up. A full detailed restoration wouldn't really make since on this one.

I would NOT sandblast and paint. That is a lot of work, and lowers the value. I'd put the effort into refurbishing the parts that are there, and enjoy the ride.

A lot of the stain can be taken off using wet car wax as a cleaning agent.
I would not resto, the color is what make that frame worth while. That and painting is a hassle and not cheap if one does 'good' paint.

It’s only original Celeste paint once. I am in the polish, wax and build how you would like camp.

Sad thing about the 80's Bianchi was the poor quality of the Celeste paint. Almost all the Celest Bianchis I see today have bad cases of crazing and chipping paint. Ironically, it is that color paint that attracts most people to their C&V bikes.
Paint and graphics is one of the costliest and time consuming things to repair on an old bike if one has to repaint the whole frame.
