Beach racing bike

Beach racing is kind of popular with the Dutch. The Koga Beachracer looks like it would make a fun road bike to sling around. As far as I know it's the only bike made specifically for beach racing, a mix of a CX and 29er.

A race discipline invented by drivetrain manufacturers?

Salsa Fargo. Been made for at least a decade. Nothing special about the design. Look it up.

It’s plain to see that the Fargo is slacker both at the head- and seat tubes, which alone make it a very different type of bike, but factors like the Fargo’s much longer wheelbase clearly place it in a different category than beach racers, IMO.

Completely different geometry. There's more to it than big tires and drop bars.

From what I see the big difference from a Fargo is the top tube length when using 58cm (large) for comparison. 57.9 Koga, 59 Salsa. Trail figures are within a couple mm, chain stays are the same, BB drop is 10mm deeper on the Fargo. Fairly close to the same design parameters, but Salsa being Salsa it has a long top tube.

10mm bottom bracket drop alone is a big difference. They have different geometry. The Koga isn't a gravel bike.

Special beach racing geometry aside, my money would be on WVA or MVDP on their 'Cross bikes.

Looks like a blast, though!

A picture is worth a thousand words. One look at the Salsa and you can see the geometry is completely different:

if it catches on it will wind up like beach volley ball .... "Beach Racing" on artificial sand in the middle of Chicago or LA ............ but add the beach volley ball girls and all is OK

Some of the recent Koga marketing is pushing their Beachracer as a gravel ride also.

If you're into long reach, Wikkit do some alu beachracing framesets.
Similar with them also; some recent marketing pushing beach/offroad riding.
