Goal is 600 miles again but real goal is to be closer to 210 pounds than 220. Currently 221 today and trending down .2-.5 pounds a day.
I'll be super upset if I can't get closer to 210 after 600 miles in September! Working on my diet and I'll give myself a c+ for August. That's where I have the most room to improve.

Put me down for 500 miles again. This time I plan to complete all 500. Going to be a day or two before I get started, though.

Back in the Saddle
I'm jumping in here to force some accountability on myself. I'm back in the saddle again after 8 years (!) out and about 90lbs (!!!) gained.
Lost about 30lbs since the beginning of June. The legs are NOT coming back quickly. I did 50 miles last month and my cautious goal for September is 75.
It's great to be back posting on C/A.

About 4 miles yesterday.
Scheduled to start a self contained, camping tour from Youngstown, OH, home to Philly on Thursday after a Wednesday drive to the start. Ten days of riding and one rest day. Haven’t added up the mileage. Probably around 500 not including side trips for groceries. Longest day is the final one. About 66 miles.
Added up the mileage from each day's cue sheet. (Yes. I still use PGS-Paper Guidance System). Comes in at around 475. It will definitely be higher, especially because I will have to logs some miles to get groceries during my day off. Looks like a 25-50% chance of showers for the first few days. That's doable.

Goal for Sept: 350 Miles..
9 /1 - 17.79 miles
The sunrise time keeps getting later and encroaching on my before work Miles. I currently try to get in a 15 Miles ride before work during the work week (Mon-Thurs).
Recently a local cyclist riding before sun up around 6.00 am was hit and killed along the route I ride quite often.

Goal: 300 miles
9/2: 17.6
YTD: 1736.4
I think I can do 300 this month again. Tonight I found out how powerful drafting can be. I always ride alone, but tonight after about 3 miles two riders on road bikes caught up to me. I move at a pretty good clip, and I don't get passed often. This time when we were at a road crossing I told them to move through because I doubted I could keep up. But I jumped on the last guy's tail and I was surprised I could stay with them pretty easily. Slightly faster than my usual pace, but much easier to achieve. They stayed in single file and we continued that way for miles until we went our separate ways. Pretty eye-opening.

09-02-22 0.06 Discovered brake issue on my wife's bike at the first stop sign and we had to turn around. Spent the rest of the morning working on her ride and got it straightened out.

Goal 300
My much better half has set herself a goal of 225 miles for this month when she signed up for the Great Cycle Challenge. Yesterday we went to the closest bike shops, about an hour drive away, and had a fun day ogling the Paramounts and Colnagos on the walls of one of the shops and she picked out a new helmet along with some ride nutrition
My better half's numbers -
09-01-22 6.12
09-02-22 0.06 Brake issue
09-03-22 20.25 Her longest ride to date. I think she found what works for her nutritionally.

9/4 - 2.7 mi.
MTD: 2.7
Monthly Goal: 500 mi.
I did say it would be a slow start this month, right? This wasn’t really a ride, more of a final step. I converted my Aethos to tubeless today and part of that involves a brief ride to centrifigually spin the sealant out across the inside of the tire, and that’s all this was. On the plus side, the installation was way easier than I expected, and on the minus side, despite washing most parts of my bike and me, I can still smell the bubblegum scent of the sealant.

Too bloody hot to ride anywhere else but the beach bike path, so I rode up and down it a couple of times. I wasn't the only one, because I kept seeing the same people going the other way over and over again.
