I have an opportunity to buy a giant ST Steel frame 24spd for 100 bucks , But wondering if it will hold up to 290-300 pound rider?

it is a comfort type bike.

The frame will.
It's the wheels that may be a concern.

If you are talking about a Giant Cypress St. The frame will be fine. I had to replace the back wheel.
