Silver Comet Trail Camping?
Just curious if anyone has cycled the Silver Comet Trail. I was planning to start from the Atlanta end, cycle the 61 miles, camp and then return the next day. However, I haven't found any areas to camp at the other end. Surely I must not be the only person who wants to make this a 2 day one night trip? I found a nice campsite at mile marker 34 but that's just a bad split.

Have you considered continuing onto the Chief Ladiga Trail? Another 33 miles gets you to Anniston where there is a very nice motel (McClellan Inn - 1 mile from trail head). Plenty of food options within walking distance. Or there is the Michael Tucker campground at the end of the Chief Ladiga Trail.
I stayed in Anniston at the McClellan Inn and then did an out and back on the Chief Ladiga Trail + Silver Comet trail to Cedartown. ~88 miles roundtrip. Beautiful trails!

I think the Silver Comet is 61 miles and if the other trail is another 34, I'm just not sure I can do that in a day. The most I cycled is 50 miles-ish. Maybe I could pick up the Silver Comet Trail further in and take it to that motel. I just have this thing about doing trails from start to finish.

You could start in Powder Springs and ride 60ish miles to the Chief Ladiga Campground between Borden Springs and Piedmont or shorten that by starting in Hiram.

If you've got a few more days, you could ride Atlanta to Cedartown (couple motels there), ride on to Anniston the next day (plenty of motels in town), then return the next couple days. That would knock out the Silver Comet and Chief Ladiga Trails.
