crazy tall bike dudes film

fricken crazy dudes making and riding their own tall bikes, even carrying bags and stuff----nuts, but you gotta hand it to them, pretty cool.
Looks scary though, dios mios, and no helmets either!
Anyway, good for a laugh and good on them for this, all bike stuff is cool.

The video is awesome! I like the DIY spirit of it and the lack of consumerism in the culture. I would say the makers are modern hippies for our times...

I know, what a bunch of goofs.
I say that in part in a fun way, but we have a friend who had a bad concussion that years later still affects him, so being goofy like that in real life when brain injury awareness is so much more understood now, isn't the brightest thing.

makes me think of how some of us perhaps grew up before car seatbelts were common, but that doesnt mean its fine to drive around without using seatbelts now, and certainly not with the risk factor of these tall bikes.....

As a touring cyclists, I gotta say I like the central placement of camping gear and the 'whale bone' racks!

I once called a sociable a 'tandem' and was corrected by Sheldon. I wonder what he'd call:

rad indeed.
I've ridden a pennyfarthing, and it's a weird feeling being up that high, can't imagine what it must feel like being as high as these dudes.
Pretty damn scary would be my thought.

I'd guess it would be scary to start but, if one was already comfortable on bikes and riding in an urban setting, I'd imagine one would get comfortable pretty quickly on a tall bike.
Does anyone know if this has been posted in the Alt bike sub forum? https://www.bikeforums.net/alt-bike-culture/

its the whole falling off from so darn high thing.
I've fallen off two wheeled things at varying speeds since I was a kid, and it doesnt freak me out, but to me falling off from 8-9 ft up in the air is scary.

but I still think these guys look pretty darn cool tooling along on their home made contraptions.
