Velo Orange vs. IRD Thumb shifters
To me these look identical... I think a lot of the VO gear comes from IRD.
I understand that the VO will work with most friction DT levers I have a 2x5 friction lever drive train.
The IRD comes with "retrofriction" levers. According to the description they work with 3 to 10 cog rear freewheels.
Am I correct in assuming the IRD is a non-index, friction lever?
TIA for your help

I bet the IRD, Velo Orange, and Dia Compe ENE shifters come off the same production line in Taiwan. The only difference is the logo:

VO compatibility with vintage levers
So I bid on another eBay auction and scored a set of the VO shifter mounts. I have Simplex LJ 1st generation retrofriction clamp on DT shifters.
I'm thinking of mounting the Simplex levers on the VO mounts and attaching cable stops on the the clamp on bosses
I will know whether this works later in the week when the VO parts arrive.
Just wondering whether anyone has used Simplex levers with the VO mounts. Maybe the French threading won't work?
TIA
