Thanks, but I look forward to improving my diet anyway. My doctor has her own opinions. Even after seeing the cardiologist's report that placed my heart rate at 54, it's still 80 in her mind, because that's normal for a man of my age

Had a pretty heavy load leaving work, and it looked like rain, so I took the bus. The second I boarded a man jumped up to vacate one of the seats in the front for senior citizens and the “handicapped.”

So my 16 Tarmac is finally noise free. No more random tick, tick tick sounds. Turns out it was the seat post/internal (infernal) clamp. Last Thursday I had a little time before the ride so I pulled it apart to service it in a desperate attempt to make it stop. However. When the seat post came out the clamp went in...as in ,into the seat tube. Then when I flipped it upside down only half came out. The wedge portion went up the seat tube into the head tube. And while manipulating the bike it finally came to rest in the top tube. No matter what I did it went the wrong way. Then it got stuck in the top tube. I shook it and bounced it. Finally after about 10 minutes it came free and I got it back into the head tube. But it wouldn't drop into the down tube. SO I had to pull the stem and drop the fork. Plop, there it is. I'm completely sweated through my kit by this time and getting grease everywhere from my over serviced headset. I fought with the post clamp for a half hour. Then it hit me. Lay the bike on its side. Insert the wedge and bolt parts , slide the post in. Stand it up and finish. Worked the first time. No more noise.
But, I almost missed my ride by the time I got it back together. Now that the weight of this bike is lower, I like it a lot more than I used to.
And the Spyre brakes are proving to be a hit. I like them, they work well. They don't rub, unlike the hydro units. I think they would be better with compressionless outer cable housings but for now I'm satisfied with them

I made myself very unpopular at the pool where I used to work out by calling guys out for not showering or simply splashing a little water here and there. They were probably pissing in it too.
Iceland has a public “sundlaug” in every neighborhood and there’s someone right there in the shower area whose job it is to make sure you strip naked and soap up.

I posted this in SaturnForums and got a reasonable suggestion, but lemme bounce this off any of the thrifty geezer car guys:
The headliner is sagging and has several holes/tears in it. I don't really care about the aesthetics but it's low enough it's touching my head. Google says a DIY headliner replacement is going to take a few hours and I know it will cause me great frustration, so I am seeking a simpler alternative.
Best idea so far is to take out headliner and paint the backing board with latex paint. Seems practical, any comments?

I'd probably go with spray-on bedliner, but that would take more prep - a lot of masking.

You could go by an upholstery shop and ask if they have an easy solution.

Uh oh.
The reason why I want a less-is-best solution is I suspect the Saturn has a life expectancy of 6-18 months. I don't really feel like giving it a fancy headliner. Plus no one else drives it except me because family refused to learn stick.
