My 10 speed Trek has a broken Ultegra front right shifter.

My local bike shop says 10 speed ultegra shifters aren't made anymore and wants to replace the entire group set with 11 speed ultegra at a cost of £750!! Any cheaper solutions? Thanks.

There are a variety of 10-speed Shimano shifters available through different sources that would work perfectly with what you have now: 105 5600/5700, Ultegra 6600/6700 and Dura Ace 7800. You may have to search a bit but they’re out there.

By them NOS/used, look for the broken part under any rock... replace the drive train with some thing else.

eBay for used. Microshift 10 speed Shimano compatible shifters. if you like the drivetrain don’t change it.

Bike shops here get repair parts from large wholesale warehouse distributors, maybe they bought a case of them..

that sort of source should have a right hand Brifter. to supply the local shop. .. ask to have them order one?
10 speed was the newest thing not that long ago..

but you're in UK, not US..

Another option is to find a different 10s brifter/s and use a shiftmate to adapt it to your cassette.

Check out the Gevenalle brake shifters. 10 speed option and updateable to 11,12, etc. speed for the future. A few on this forum use and love them. https://www.gevenalle.com/product/cx2/ $200 here. Shipping to the U.K. available.

Is Gevenalle still in business? According to their website they gave nothing in stock.

Unless you can find NOS on ebay, I'd try the Microshift. If your 10 speed stuff has a lot of use, the 105/7000 group would be a couple of hundred less than Ultegra and still very nice.
