Poop

Wish I was closer. Those are nice little frames with the tidy cantilever setup.

Sweet frame and nice of you to offer it up. What's up with the lowrider mounts? Can't say I've seen them before.

Likewise. Happily enough my size for a loaded tourer, but unfortunately a bit away, plus the mandatory 14-day quarantining.

Collected this bad boy from the kross57 snowy driveway last night - almost like it had slipped off Santa's sleigh. Many thanks for such a great holiday gift, and will share updates as the winter build happens...

So glad someone could use it. Otherwise it was destined for the recycling bin. And many thanks for the tires and saddle. Much appreciated!

Looking kinda spiffy! Besides having to track down a set of decent cantis, and special order for that yellow cabling, I raided the parts bin for everything else to make this first draft from the kross57 donor.

Just a shakedown so far, so cheapo pedals, untrimmed cables, placeholder grips etc etc....

Nice Build! If those are bin parts, you've got some nice bins.

Girlfriend's going to be happy.

=) city apartment living means "parts bin" space is super tight, so it's a constant churn of nicer-in,-less-nice-out. it can be surprising how quickly the bin stuff becomes nice, and I can end up struggling with decisions when making a street beater for friends. Still, it's a parts bin so those are battered Soma Oxfords, and not fancy heat-treated Albatross. that old XT RD, meanwhile, has been waiting for something exactly like this...

Wow niliraga , that looks great. I like the pedals. The grip, well, I look forward to seeing what you put on there. I have been liking cork grip lately. I've seen some good looking leather wrapped grips , and you could wrap the leather over the shifter cable.

How do you like the barcons? Do your knees hit?

This could be an inspiration bike for me.

Perhaps you can keep us updated when you put on new grips and make changes.

thanks! yes exactly - the foamy grips are just there for testing, since they are so cheap'n'nasty that you can pull them on over the barcons, as easily as pulling on wool socks in the morning.

the goal is cork tape for that area, leaving the track grips ahead of the levers. but first i need to dial everything in (that stem may need to go longer?) and see if barcons+knees is an issue. oh, and at some point i want my 700x40 Supremes back in my hoard, and i'll need to find 32 or 35 to allow for some fenders.

They're designed for old Blackburn lowriders. The lowriders had a u bolt setup that spaced the rack away from the blade, so if you're using them with a normal lowrider braze on they'll be at an angle. The post spaces it to the same distance as the u bolts would.

thook do you know what handlebars are on there? They look like a type that I have been unable to find, with a little sweep forward before turning back.

These are the Soma Oxford, which are Albatross-ish in terms of shape. https://www.somafab.com/archives/product/oxford-bar

Cool bike. See my thread in the Sale section - this is exactly the kind of frame I’m hunting for! I’ll add this model to my search. Enjoy!
