BB30 Crankset with 68mm BB shell
Is there a way to use a standard BB30 crankset on a frame that has a 68mm threaded bottom bracket shell? If so, what bottom bracket would work?

Nope. Will not work. The spindle on the BB30 crank will be too short. There is simply no room between the spindle and the BB shell for an inboard bearing.

I have Truvativ GXP crankset and BB on a 2006 Schwinn SS DBX. They have a lot of miles on them and have been really good. I have pulled them off the bike a couple of times in 15 years and they are still in great shape.

Yes. I have a SRAM Force GXP crankset in a BB86 bottom bracket. I went for the Wheels Manufacturing BB and have been very happy with it. It's done 1,700 miles since I installed it in October and has, so far, been perfectly reliable.

All you have told us about your bb shell is that it is 68 mm. We don't know anything about the diameter or it's threading. Do you? That's the most critical thing to know besides shell width to decide what crank you can put in it.

It depends on the BB30 crank. A lot of newer cranks have a longer 30mm spindle and will work just fine with a BSA30 external BB cup. The magic number is 86mm, if the distance between the inside of the installed arms is >86mm, it will work on a BSA68 bb.
