Sorry for being an old man and not always uploading photos properly.

and hey, stop being so negative. I’m not a troll. I found a brand new bike that has never been on the road and I bought it so I could have the fork and swap out for a chrome fork that is not the proper gear for my bike.

1972 Colnago’s don’t grow on trees. If you were interested or had something nice to say, you could simply message me instead of being such a jerk.

I find fun and rare things and frequently sell them for the exact price I paid for them to people in this form because we are enthusiasts.

I enjoy the hunt, the build and the ride. This is a hobby not a business.

Maybe I should stick with eBay. They’re less lippy there.

I get your drift. I do live in Oregon. But I hate the smell of that stuff.

“Here try this, it’s really skunky”

yeah, I think skunks use that smell as a deterrent.

It's 2022. If you can't post a simple photo, why would anyone expect you to successfully sell, pack and ship an expensive bike?

If you get my drift.
Funny, I saw both posts about the time they went up (night-owl that I sometimes am), and I thought perhaps he'd broken into the stock remaining from his now-defunct wine bar.

Tho I'd like to see 'em, I'm not holding my breath for photos based on the OP's track record so far

Let me see if I have this straight. You have a ‘72 Colnago without the original fork right?

so you bought a NOS ‘72 Colnago to harvest the fork from it?

Now you want top dollar for what used to be a NOS bike but now is just a bike with a replacement fork?

Your posting is rather poorly worded and quite cryptic.

no I’m trying to understand you. So if there’s something for sale that you’re not interested in, not only do you feel inclined to comment about it. But you somehow also have the time available to do so.

Fascinating.

The fork I swapped is from 78, the first year it was offered in chrome. It has a colnago pantographs on the crown as well as on the tang

I’ve already had several people privately messaged me because they’re actually interested in this instead of making useless commentary.

Why don't you start a new thread with pictures and explain what you've done.

Pictures would be good. It looks like you've successfully uploaded quite a few in the past.

Ok, so a Colnago fork is good.

A 1972 fork crown should be a flat crown, with perhaps a chrome crown and painted fork blades. And either pantographed Colnago or a C with clover, or perhaps just a clover.

By 1978, is it still a flat crown, or is it a sloping crown?

I'm surprised a NOS frame would come with a bottom bracket.

I'm still trying to figure out whether the OP is serious, or whether this is the greatest April Fools thread to ever April Fool after April Fools.

I hope it's a prank, as it's brilliantly executed if it is.

To answer the question about the forks. The chrome fork is also a flat crown with a Colnago pantograph on top and the three leaf clover inside the tang. To further answer your question. I have an extra NOS Athena bottom bracket laying around and thought I would toss it in because I’m a nice guy. Apparently I should take that out too.

I'm not sure why this thread turned so negative, although people probably wanted to see pictures. But they aren't forthcoming, and a lot of posts in here break this subforum's guidelines. That are a little more strict than other subforums

I'm just going to close this and probably delete it. Hopefully the OP can make a new thread with better information
