We just discussed this, Cinelli changes hands again.
We discussed this in another thread about stems and insignia's when Columbus took over controlling interest in Cinelli and rebranded them in 1978.
They have been completely taken over again, and Columbus, guess we'll see how this goes.

So, does this mean the Flying C logo is cool again? 🤨 And also, geeze, we really must have a lot of influence, on the rest of the bicycle world, to influence these guys like that. 🤔😁

I just would never use it on anything that should have the old logo, according to me.

Can we call this late-stage Cinelli?
A tossing-over of the keys isn't exactly what I was hoping for but who am I anyway.
I'd be interested in seeing predictions and projections of what will come, decline included.

And it seems like they're most interested in preserving history, seeing as how they own a museum, over there in Italy somewheres. 🙂
I could be wrong, but this looks like all good, to me, so far. 🤔

A Texas-based group buys Cinelli/Columbus?
I think the value of my Supercorsa just went up a few bucks.

Cinelli stopped being a viable player in bike racing just after 2000 if you ask me. The last of the quill stem bikes in the tour were I think 1999, and there was some noise about Spinaci bars maybe 15 years ago, but isn't that it? They've became the brand of these urban kids on fixed gears, who think Red Hook Criteriums are the pinnacle of racing. And that's fine, but seems Cinelli is now all about marketing their heritage to a young urban crowd, and not about bike racing technology.

It would be cool if they could be brought up to be more competitive in the pro peloton. I guess I'm OK with them going all carbon/aero in order to compete, even though I detest the look of those bikes. But to see that Flying C again in a real pro road race would be great.

In 2016 the Tour started from nearby Düsseldorf so went to over to watch it. It was really sad that then only Lotto with the Bianchis represented Italian bikes. Since then thanks to Colnago fell in Abu Dhabi hands UAE is riding Nagos and DeRosa Pinarello and Wilier are also back maybe Cinelli will be back as well. As I understand that now not (only) the 'Sunday winners' sell the bikes but the caps and t-shirt the currently hyped influencers wear and through that the sheer pricetags with the show off factor which cant be ignored.
To the ownership change: many Italian brands exist today or came out of deep trouble because of foreign ownership (Ducati is owned by Porsche, MV Agusta by Mercedes through AMG), it might not even matter if they are in Texas if they "feel" Italian inside.
Lets see...
