Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Show us your gravel/cross bike...

Great job!
If you are referring to my bike thank you butit is fully rigid. The fork is a Tange bi-plane from a 1983 Specialized StumpJumper.

My Mongoose Dynametric Cross 325 I finally got put together working right:

I changed out most of the parts on it. I believe this is a 1991 model which pre-dates the Pacific Cycles buyout of Mongoose that sadly led to Mongoose being another Wal-Mart bike brand, just like Schwinn.

1973 Raleigh Competition Mk. II running 42/44T chainrings with a 17/19T Surly Dingle fixed-gear cogset on one side of the Surly New Track hub, White Industries Dos Eno 20/22T freewheel on the other - which gives me 70-in pavement and 60-in gravel fixed-gear settings, a 60-in general coasting option and a 52-in gear in case I feel brave enough for some gentle singletrack. Currently wearing 35 mm Continental Cyclocross Speed tires I picked up cheaply a couple of years back.

... and seen here in the wild -

"L-TWOO' brand shifters. You can find them on Aliexpress for about $50, shipped.

The 9 speed L-TWOO shifters are a great - get them. The 8 speed are not great - skip.

Well thats cool to hear. I have been thinking about changing my 33 year old Suntour XC cantilever brakes to some mini-V brakes on my old gravel bike thats now sorta commute/errands focused. It currently has 35mm tires and 50mm fenders. I would have to drop the fenders, but it could be neat to try out a wider slick.
Always trying to figure out how to use that bike more, since I basically built it up during the winter before the pandemic as a commuter...and have worked from home for the last 21 months.

Mini-Motos won't work beyond 44mm of width which is why my DD has Paul Motolites .. it rides on 42/44 tires under 55mm fenders. If I had to do either all over again I wouldn't change a thing
