One off maybe?

I have a mongoose dolomite
it's 58lbs of bad hardware
Overweight frame
Bad rider positioning
Non responsiveBoring.

I want a simple fatbike for a crazy man.

What ever do I mean, allow me to elaborate.
I would like a lightweight under 25lbs.
Hard tail
Single speed
Hydraulic rear brake only
26x4 wheels
Straight handlebars
Under $2000usd

Does this bike exist?
Can this bike be made?
Do you know of anywhere on the eastern seaboard that can help me?

Surly Wednesday hits most of that, except the weight. Its about 35lbs, which is still way lighter than the Mongoose. 25 lbs is going to be tough to get at that price point when the tires alone weigh 6lbs or more.

Ok well let's say the weight class was stretched out a little.

I'll give you the 35lbs to work with.
and we will leave the tires and wheels out of it.
(I want 5 spoke mags)
I'm on 60 now.

Does this change my outcome?

I'm confused about your revised weight requirements. 35 pounds without tires and wheels should be no problem for the cheapest walmart mongoose fatbike.

I doubt that you'll find any 5 spoke mags that fit 4" fat tires. It's just not a thing that there is a market for. I'll repeat my suggestion of the Surly Wednesday https://surlybikes.com/bikes/wednesday It has slotted dropouts that would work as a single speed.

hard to find a custom frame starting under $2000

why only one brake? why mags?

the surly sure looks like it meets pricepoint and a lot of needs, with potential to meet others

What is the purpose of rear brake only? If you are determined to run only one brake, the front should be the one. Rear brake is only 50% as effective as F brake.
