1974 Raleigh Grand Prix Rehab...Part 6...Pedals

These are the original issue steel and chrome pedals. The only identifying marks are "R 501" and "Made In England"

There was quite a bit of crunch in the bearings and non-drive side pedal had been crashed so the cage was torqued and it was missing the dust-cap.

After disassembling, I clamped the bent cage in a vise and worked it back in shape with a hard plastic mallet...

Where did you come across a dustcap for the one that's missing? I have a box of mismatched or incomplete pedals, a lot of them missing a dustcap. After awhile, I usually just donate the mish mash lot of them to the local coop. (BTW, I've never found any dustcaps I've needed at the coop... maybe they just throw away the singles. Not sure.)

I had another pair of GP pedals that had only one dust cap. I never throw bike parts away unless they are completely useless.
