I've never warmed to gel/goo because of the wrapper - I'm obviously not going to be a jackass and litter, but I also don't want to stick the wrapper, with residue, back in to my pocket. I prefer gummies/shot blocks.

I always carry a Clif Shot with me on any ride, but generally don't avail myself of it. On longer Sunday rides I also carry one or two packages of Clif Bloks, the Black Cherry variety, and I like to stop at the halfway point and eat one package while admiring the scenery, which is usually this...

Heh. On more than one occasion I’ve forgotten about the wrapper in a back pocket after a ride and found it stuck inside a couple of days later.

The TDF ads for Clif Bars tout the family ownership Only problem is they sold to a corporation this year for approximately $3billion.
I’ve got no issue with people profiting from their efforts. Just don’t lie to me. Going to make it hard for me to swallow a Clif Bar going forward

Back in 2012 Clif Bars released a limited production run of "Panforte" bars.
They were only on the market for a couple months.
Best Clif Bar ever!
When the local grocery had no more, I drove a 20 mile roundtrip to buy the last box an REI had.
I'd kill to get my hands on more of those.

Regarding the OP: whew.
Regarding Clif Bars: they are OK - do what they need to do and are easy to get down. I preferred the Mojo bars (also made by Clif), but they evidently don't make them any more. I keep Clif bars in my carry on backpack when I'm traveling. Two will get me through a missed meal easily.

With regulations like, in California, all the nonsense warning labels on virtually everything, it surprises me that the SEC allows the commercials to be aired in USA. You can lie about how your product tastes, and even how well it works (ex: holistic natural male enhancement products) but you generally cannot misrepresent the financials or ownership of a company.

Actually, though it's a bit fiddly, the Clif Shots have the "litter leash" built into the wrapper.. supposed to wrap and lock around one of your bike cables. Anyway, it was a nice attempt at solving this problem.

Yeah, the leash is to keep the torn off part with the bottom, but you can also use the leash to tie the wrapper onto a brake cable if you're so inclined. I don't bother though, I keep edibles in a sandwich ziploc bag and just put the wrapper back in that.

Why just this commercial? I'm skeptical about every commercial I see on TV. Though I seldom watch live TV. I'm usually 15 or 20 minutes behind when I start them from the beginning so I can fast forward through the commercials and not have to be bothered.
