New to the hobby, Please help me decide on a Bike

I am a novice looking to get into cycling again.

Which bike should I choose?

Kilimanjaro X-Fact 29

The killimanjaro bike - has some better parts and a slightly better gear ratio.

- The suspension seems a bit springy

The CUBE bike - has braking and shifting that seems snappier (maybe it was better assembled?)

- The suspension seems more rigid. It requires more force for it to activate

Im not sure which to buy since both are the same price. The killimanjaro bike seems to have better parts (but im not an expert), but the cube one seems snappier

The Cube is a mountain bike. It's not very fancy, but it will work. The suspension is slower because it has an oil damper in the right leg.

The X-fact is a commuter bike with mountain bike styling. The suspension seems springy because it's literally just a spring. Yes the shifting components are higher spec. But where they found any M785 derailleurs in 2022, who knows. Those are from eleven years ago.

I would start by deciding whether you want a hardtail bike or the heavier but more compliant full suspension ones. Another consideration is whether to get a mountain bike or a gravel bike. A dropper post adds a lot but these can be installed as a retrofit on most mountain and gravel bikes.

There are many great deals on Craigslist for used mountain bikes so unless you need a very large or very small frame a used carbon frame bike will cost roughly the same as a new aluminum frame bike.
