Yes, and cut out the BB shell and mig weld on an ashtabula sized one, put the Huffy parts on, then highlight it over at Classic Rendezvous.

I found it kind of easy, and not terribly expensive, to replace nearly all of my bolts (pinch bolts; brake shoe and pivot bolts; jockey wheel bolts; derailleur mounting bolts; pedal toe clip and cage bolts) with titanium counterparts. In the case of instances where stress wasn't high, like water bottle bolts, I went even lighter with aluminum.
The aluminum nuts found securing Weinmann brake shoes and caliper parts can be a cheap source of weight-savings, and don't seem to impose any durability issues.
You might knock off 160 grams using a good heat-treated racing handlebar like the Prima 199 or 220, but the clamp diameter will be 25.8mm.
Modolo briefly offered a lightweight road bar with 25.4mm clamp as I recall.

These are great suggestions guys, and I really appreciate the Prima mention - I hadn't heard of those, but those will definitely be going on the new build. In fact, I think that my SR Royal Extra Super Light stem is 25.4, which is perfect.

I can't thank you enough for bringing the Huffente to the Eddy Rando this year! Like James mentioned you put on a valiante performance on Saturday at the Randonnee Heroique in some of the worse conditions possible. James and I ride those roads often and in good conditions they're really fast and enjoyable. It was too bad that the weather dominated the weekend but it didn't stop the spirit of the event and folks like yourself kept things moving on a positive note. We also had a strong contingent from WA State that rode hard on Saturday and they were real troopers as well! Hope to have you back next year!

I did see a very nice stock looking white Legrande posted on Facebook. Southern Michigan area I think and perhaps $25. It was the twin to this projects bike. Any interested party in the Midwest could perhaps do that Dura Ace build on it. Perhaps a crit race then between the two.

You wanna borrow my drill bits. I have a series used to step drill the old post out. They start at about 7/8" and go upward. They weren't cheap about thirty each but they do the job correctly.
I used these in a Terry frame that had a very seized seat post. The sodium hydroxide process took nearly two weeks and then these were deployed. They worked better than the sodium process.
