I can't thank you enough for bringing the Huffente to the Eddy Rando this year! Like James mentioned you put on a valiante performance on Saturday at the Randonnee Heroique in some of the worse conditions possible. James and I ride those roads often and in good conditions they're really fast and enjoyable. It was too bad that the weather dominated the weekend but it didn't stop the spirit of the event and folks like yourself kept things moving on a positive note. We also had a strong contingent from WA State that rode hard on Saturday and they were real troopers as well! Hope to have you back next year!

I never knew about this one! What a fantastic bike! Looks like there are 2 versions, with the higher tier having cromoly main tubes, but both carrying the time honored legacy of the gaspipe.

will keep my eye out for one.

The early 90s Huffy Evolution I salvaged from RYB and rebuilt for FB4K was like that, but was bereft of a Greg sig. CrMo frame, threaded BB, alloy rims, decent basic Shimano components.

I Googled it for some better photos. With exception to the seat tube, it looks almost as if Huffy did a copy-paste off one of the cheap Raleigh USA offerings.

I did see a very nice stock looking white Legrande posted on Facebook. Southern Michigan area I think and perhaps $25. It was the twin to this projects bike. Any interested party in the Midwest could perhaps do that Dura Ace build on it. Perhaps a crit race then between the two.

Why, it's likely less than a 2 hour drive for you, my friend! That $20 you save over the cost of my Le Grande can be put into gas money, and you'll likely be ahead of the game. Fate awaits!

Kurt,
You wanna borrow my drill bits. I have a series used to step drill the old post out. They start at about 7/8" and go upward. They weren't cheap about thirty each but they do the job correctly.

I used these in a Terry frame that had a very seized seat post. The sodium hydroxide process took nearly two weeks and then these were deployed. They worked better than the sodium process.

Different drilling; this would be making a hole in the downtube for lighting. Not necessarily committing to it as I'm not sure it's a crack in the frame and not the chrome. You can read it all here:
