I have begun to dig out some items for inclusion to the BOC when it resumes it's journey. However we still need more folks to sign on to receive the Exalted Box O' Crap, before it can come out of cold storage. New copies of the BOC sticker are now minted and will be included before the "box" moves along again. PLEASE sign up so the box may move again. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

Anybody know the history behind the 150 post threshold? Did the threshold used to be lower or higher?

I don't remember exactly when, but the minimum post number was instituted after someone who had not been a member very long absconded with the BOC. I think the number was arbitrarily selected by the Crap Master at that time.

The box morphs from one participant to the next. The guy who was the problem was upset that he didn't find anything he could use. Pretty much why the post count was set at 150 post. It is important to read the rules.

If you don't get satisfaction from giving away crap which others might be able to use—separate from finding crap you can use—you shouldn't play the game.

I look at it as buying $20 in lottery scratchers. Sometimes it pays back, sometimes not.

It has been set at 150 posts since I joined BF. And when I became the CrapMaster I continued in the tradition. Many of the rules were because of problems with a very few players, so they persist as rules. The box has a way of Karma attached to it, and it does in many cases bring joy to a recipient by giving just the right part at the right time. A lot of the things in the box are often new in box parts that members can use. I know that I always put a bunch of new cables in the box, and parts that most players can use no matter what bike it goes on. And I'm sure it is a strategy that works because the box always comes back to me with all of the cables taken by players.
I also know that a lot of vintage Campy parts have move on through the BOC, because I put them in there. So there should always be a bit of surprise in the box for each player. So again players need to sigh in please! Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

Thanks for the cables, Mad Honk! There's also the serendipity effect, when something that wasn't on your radar shows up in the BOC and inspires a new opportunity. Go for it, it's a cheap thrill!

Well folks,
Adventure man didn't want this so in the box it goes. I spent some time at the Co-Op tonight picking up a few small parts, and the box shall be opened as soon as it thaws out. Hoping to have it moving within a week. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

This thing came in and won't stay here. It needs a new bolt but it has gone through the Heli-coil process so it will be safe.

Same picture but perhaps it shows the finish a bit better. The bolt will get the stainless steel replacement so it will work correctly.

Crapmaster, as I'm first in line to receive the box, I wanted to let you know I will away from my mailbox from June 22-26. I'm not sure if the box will be released during this time, but I thought it best to advise just in case.

Yours in Crap.

Crap-A -Teers,
The BOC is ready to resume it's journey with a slight wait for two more players. I have removed some borked stuff and added about $100 worth of new items. Here is a shot of the borked items, anyone wanting them should PM me so I can direct them to anyone interested. The reasoning is to get better items in the BOC and not have broken items in the BOC. Here are the pics of the box as received and removed borked items. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

The BOC as received.

Items removed as borked, duplicates, or not useable.

Hey now! How can I not want something I don't know about

I would just need to find the right seatpost-less upper tier project bike to be ready! Course, since I love the dumpster bikes, it would probably be a long time coming.

I do have a couple of el cheapster bikes that I could use some parts for...and I do have quite big box full of parts sitting around that I don't need. Should I sign up???
