One of the most serious cyclists I know has been riding custom Seven bikes for many years. He just got a new Emonda and says it’s the best bike he’s ever had. I think he is about my size, so I may want to look into a little exchange trial, just for fun.

Heh, yeah. I've never thought of myself as a heavy sweater, but I think it's mostly because the tech fabrics do such a good job of wicking and evaporation. On particularly hot and humid days (sometimes in MN but more common in VA) though, once I get off the bike and no longer have air continually flowing over me, rivulets just start flowing.

Speaking of being wet (), I sat in with a different group last night and got absolutely drenched at the end (my shoes are still drying out and I need to drain my wheels ).

One of the guys that I ride with also rides with this group, so I tagged along. It was billed, by my buddy, as a ride with some pretty hard efforts but, evidently, some of the strongest riders were absent, spectating some race or another in France.

I pushed on stretches where I was told that they pushed and I chased any and all wheels that tried to go off the front. With three days off the bike, my legs were pretty fresh and, besides, I was wearing my flash maroon bibs - you can't show up in something flamboyant like that and loaf off.

I think that a few of the guys were happy to have me there and really enjoyed the effort, but I got the feeling that others may not have been as thrilled. I think that some were hoping for/anticipating an easier ride with some of their high-strung mates on vacation. Oh well, I guess I see if I get invited back

I am a sweater. I rode 20 last night and drank 48 ounces of water. I still weighed 1.5 pounds less after the finish.

oh, and I still feel like ****- trying to push last night was a terrible idea.

I rarely weigh myself pre- and post-ride, but I'm sometimes curious... Maybe I'll do that one of these days, when I remember.

I hear ya. Some days I have that dragging feeling and it's hard to tell if I need to rest or if I need to push. Sometimes you guess wrong.

I rode my usual 22 yesterday. Ready for a longer one soon. Since my COVID fatigue went away, I don't really know my limit, given enough time. I likely wouldn't try a century in this weather, but I might be able to do it

I seldom weigh myself, just out of curiosity. I think that if I had been 100% over the cold last night, I could have put out a much higher average wattage, I’m guessing 20% or so.

Got home around midnight last night. First thing I do is typically get my cycling stuff ready, grab a kit, check the tires, charge anything I think may die.

I get all that done, and go upstairs and my wife is still awake. She’s had a cold for about a week now, nothing bad, more of an annoyance. She refuses to take anything because she’s pregnant. Last night she sounded awful. I made the decision to stay home this morning and put her on bed rest. Easier said then done, I’ve had to escort her back to bed atleast 5 times and it’s only 10 am. She keeps trying to do something.

Have a meeting for work this morning, and at 2:30 we go see the high risk pregnancy doctor. Praying she sees normalcy.

Hoping to get a few miles in tonight, calling for rain but the chances keep getting predicted to be smaller and smaller. Tomorrow i’ll try and ride in the morning and then I have to go back to Charlotte. If I land on time and traffic isn’t nuts there’s another ride I want to try out. Seems to be A pace, will be interesting, especially if I get a ride in tomorrow morning first.

Thats an absolute steal for that bike. Not many Crest bikes out there IIRC.

Very long top tubes on those FYI. I think 61cm on the 63cm frames.

Yeah, I was going to mention that. If it's really a 63, the TT may be almost 59cm c-c (based on the 1988 catalog. The SR bikes look a lot like this one, with steel forks, no cantilevered seatstays, and no seat post collar. Also, if it's the Criterium series, the head tube is REAL steep, like almost 75 degrees.
