Univega Gran Touring - is the frame compromised?

This is a beautiful bike, beautiful frame with a few scratches.
But the seat tube on the non drive side has a dent. Is the frame compromised?
I am interested to sell the bike, but if the frame is damaged I will only sell the parts.
Please advice what to do..
Thanks

Is there damage under the water bottle cage? It looks like the cage got crushed into the tube and left a small dent.

I wonder if that is a bike stand dent...?

Check the alignment I would say. That would give you a clue if it was in a minor wreck.

Yes, it is a small dent situated under the top of the bottle cage too.

I think that those dents could be pushed out from the inside. You could sell it as is to some one non risk adverse, or fix it yourself, with a full disclosure to the buyer..... or part it out.

Curious what year this is? I've not seen one and it's always interesting to see the later year tourers of some of the mid 80s classics. Assuming this is post '91 and not competing with the Miyata 1000.

To me, from the looks of the dent it seems fine other than the aesthetics/cosmetics. If you can live with the dent (allows you to put more in the frame) and if the alignment is alright, I would say no NO and ride it.....
IMHO, we are way too quick to part out a bike because of the above.
Best, Ben

If it bugged mr that much, I would smooth/wipe some Bondo on it to level it out..no sanding and put one of these on it.

Easy peasy, if its sound why scrap it? Out of sight and out of mind....
IMHO, no need to push the dent out of the tube because you will never make it perfect without a repaint anyway. paint less dent removal works on autos but tubes on a bike are another matter.
The only way to nirvana is to do what makes you happy and comfortable. Signing out.
Sleep well my friend, Ben

I don't have the slightest concern when it comes to seattube dents on steel. As long as the frame passes a basic string alignment test (and rides out no-handed), it goes into my collection. I have a Trek 990 mtb with a random dent similar to the OP's, no marks anywhere else on that side. I theorize that it fell over on something just right to only catch the seattube..
