FS: 1986 Nishiki Tri-A 55cm CTT, Tange #1, 600EX SIS
1986 Nishiki Tri-A
Size: seat tube 55cm center-to-top; top tube 56cm center-to-center
Frame: Tange #1
Fork: Tange #2
Color: Black and Yellow
Components: Shimano 600EX SIS
See last photo for complete specifications spreadsheet.
Beautiful bike, lightly ridden, always stored indoors, and ready to ride. Very nicely made frame with details more commonly found on more expensive frames, including star-shaped, brazed-on water bottle bosses, internal cable routing, and brazed-on rear brake bridge supports - see photos. There are a few small chips in the paint but a minor cleaning and detailing would make this bike look almost new. Shimano 600EX SIS components in excellent condition. See last image for complete specifications.
$350 + Bikeflights.com or Pirateship.com shipping. Local-pick-up in Columbus Ohio is welcomed.

The one who lived a tougher life...James’ is in gorgeous shape.
Great bikes by the way. Every bit as exhilarating as more expensive cousins.

Pedal to the medal
With the Tange 1 tubing, makes me think it's an Ironman by another name, and I mean that as a good thing!

More like the Ironman Dave Scott. Tange 1 in most places, Tange 2 in a few others (downtube I believe). Almost same specs component wise.
Free bump.

I'm figuring weight-wise, closer to the Ironman (only 2.2 oz diff between Ironman Tange 1 frame and Lemans RS Tange 2 frame in 58cm).
Geometry, looks a little closer to the Lemans RS and Elite RS, both of which were raced as much as the Ironman in the mid-late 80's.
The Ironman looks like it tucked that back wheel in a little closer, but the more I look at your pics, it may be a twin in most ways.
At least half of my "racing friends" chose the Lemans RS and Elite RS, mainly due to cost and the ability to use the $250 savings on components.
With the Elite RS using the same 600EX as the Ironman, it was kind of a no-brainer at the time to save the money, get an Elite RS, and upgrade.
You could get an Elite RS, those new-fangled Look pedals, and a set of aero bars and still be cheaper than an Ironman, just not an icon.
In any case, could be the best of both worlds. A Tange 2 Comp T/A, in my experience, was a more suitable frame if you decided to ride all day.
Doesn't mean I've not ridden an Ironman on at least a dozen centuries, but I relaxed a bit more on the Comp T/A, and a 7700-equipped Comp TA is a smoothie.
I've seen few Nishikis, but those I've seen had excellent durable paint and the same quality as the Centurions and Japanese lugged Schwinns of the era.
54cm TT and I'd be interested. Those are interesting colors to work with. Would be a great bike to "see what it's got" with modern components. My thing.

I got Bumblebeena for $40 with all components including the yellow turbo and a bunch of rust. Kawamura made. I used it for last year’s clunker challenge.
Replaced dry rot tires with used Gatorskins, re Cabled, derusted chain and frame, soaked components in evaporust, used used bar tape replaced the saddle which was rotted and kept well under $100, even with replacement pedals (I have the rusty 600 left over)
Paint needed lots of touch up but easy to match.
I thought it would be short term since I prefer Italian. Big nope...Bumblebeena is a keeper.
One of the better riding bikes I have had. It would be awesome with brifters and a nine speed.

I sort of wish. Kind of a Merckx fit, given the description.
Not my (asking) price range, even if it was.
Best of luck to the seller, though.
