Any ideas on this frame constuction and maybe what it is?
Hi, new to this forum, after reading a few threads i was wondering if anyone on here maybe able to shed some light on the possible model of this mbk and perhaps the frame construction which has got me a little confused.
I do hope this is the correct forum

Wasn't able to find too much based on my own Googling, but here's a sweet pic:
MBK was apparently owned by Motobecane and Yamaha at various points in the 80's, and they were known for being somewhat heavy. Paint is fun tho.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have another MBK which is Columbus tubed that I have had for a while and I love. Weighs just under 9kg. Iv noticed a lot are heavy, just the butting on this one really got me keen on it as I have always associated that type with carbon but it surely can't be?

"Inexternal" I had a lesser Moto and it used internal lugs which were brazed inside and out. Inside brass had fitted shapes. Special tubing to fit the lugs and stand the higher temperatures.
I think their lighter stuff didn't use the internal lugging and was just brazed inside and out.
But a real racer like yours might be fillet brazed.

Is that an attachment for a racing tag under the top tube? Could it be a team bike maybe?

If MBK did not make any race replicas for general public "consumption", we could be seeing a real "team issued" bike here.....
That's why collectors love finding bikes with those racing number tag hodlers...... including me!
