Thoughts on the new Newbaums padded cloth bar wrap?
New to me at least, I don't think it's been available for too long. Who has tried this? I prefer cloth wrap and a little extra cushion sounds nice.

I would still need a base layer of fairly cushy stuff as well.

Too pricey for me. You could always get something like the planet bike gel and use it underneath the tape if looking for some more cush:

I noticed most all the c&v guys I rode with last summer wear padded half-gloves, so I started using 'em too, especially when I ride my bikes with cotton tape. I never ride in hot/humid weather, so the gloves always feel comfortable.

There is a cloth tape sold at Tractor Supply that is used for wrapping horses legs. Same tape used by your doctor when he tekes a blood sample ,to hold on the bandage. I have used it for years on bike handlebars . It comes in 3” wide roles but I use a razor blade to cut it into 1” wide roles. Super cheap.🚴🏽♀️

Yuk!
For years I've stuffed high density foam into the palm area of my riding gloves, adds some additional protection against nerve compression.

Looks like you need to order two of the Newbaum's. That's $30+ per bar. I dig the Velo Orange comfy cotton bar tape. $12 a pair, but it is nice and thick, a little wider, and plenty long.

I've just put on some regular cotton Newbaum's on my Peugeot. I put two layers of hockey tape underneath. Honestly for short rides it is fine without gloves. Longer rides will need gloves though. I really like how the cotton feels. I'll try the padded cotton tape for my Armstrong build.

Three years ago I bought some padded cloth bar tape from Walley’s Bikes in San Luis Obispo. He had it at the Eroica California Event-in Paso Robles. It was $10 a roll and I wish I had bought more, it is very nice.

I wear my padded gloves so that I will not feel the need to do this to one of my oldies again...
The padded tape, on the Torpado above just looks wrong, to me. The cloth tape, on the Torpado below, fits right in, in my opinion, But I gotta wear the gloves.
