Drilled Nervar crank, Huret DuoPar Titanium group

For your all-French build, a better alternative to Simplex! Looking for $140 + shipping.

Low mileage Titanium DuoPar drivetrain w/drilled Nervar crank in excellent shape, rings factory-drilled. Very low wear, flagged for another project. Will toss in the chain & crank bolts for free. Note: This rear mech comes with the adapter to fit any dropout except Huret dropouts. It came off a bike with Shimano dropouts, but will fit Campy, Simplex, etc. Read more.

DuoPar rear was capable of supporting one of the largest gearing ranges out back. It had its share of lovers and haters. DuoPar front used the SPP (Spring Push Plate) system which allowed for a huge variety of double or triple cranksets in front. EDIT: More info from the '81 catalog pages, also linked below:

Rear: Huret - catalogue July 1981 scan 3
Front: Huret - catalogue July 1981 scan 2
Levers: Huret - catalogue July 1981 scan 4

What makes the rear special, unlike any other derailleur, is explained in English in the 1981 catalog here: https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/...80_scan_3.html

More pics on request. No effort spent to clean it up, how you see it is how it came off the donor bike.

Bump for price adjust.

Certainly someone else out there wants to go full-French using quality parts other than Simplex?

anterior mech appears first generation Success; be that correct?

[this is what was employed as companion for Duopar in the ensemble]

Nope. The good expensive Titanium stuff, DuoPar circa '81/'82. Naming got a little weird towards late 70s to early 80s, you start seeing Success and DuoPar used interchangeably in the catalog. God examples for the '81 Huret catalog here, thanks to a fellow BF'er

Rear: Huret - catalogue July 1981 scan 3

Front: Huret - catalogue July 1981 scan 2

Levers: Huret - catalogue July 1981 scan 4

If the rear mech looks a bit off, it's probably because it's collapsed vs. fully extended as you see in the catalogs, the tension spring is kicked way back. With the mechanicals being what they are, the ultra-long range, the huge rear cog support, the DuoPar looks really weird collapsed.

EDIT2: Worth noting, as seen in the catalog, the front mech used their Spring Push Plate system which was really cool if you wanted more flexibility with double/triple in front.

EDIT1: The more I look back on this and the price I have it at, the more I'm second-guessing posting this for sale. This is a killer group for someone wanting to go all-French!

Is this a Huret rear where we have to worry about which adapter to use to fit alternative manufacturer's dropouts?
Or just standard Campy?

Yes, and thanks for bringing this up, I'll edit above to link down here. There are two different adapters for DuoPar:
  • An adapter for any dropout except Huret (which is what mine above has)
  • Another adapter for Huret dropouts, including honeycombs
More info on that, exhaustively: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ed-washer.html

I think if someone wanted to buy this and use it w/Huret dropouts they'd probably have luck asking in that other thread to see if someone had a Huret-apropos adapter.

This is a steal! I paid good money for my titanium Sachs-Huret Duopar last year.

Yeah, I should've probably kept the price at $180. I know 100% it'd be nearly impossible for me to buy these pieces in this condition individually for less than $200. I've seen the RD/FD sell for upwards of $100 on eBay alone, nowhere near as nice. I could probably get a non-drilled crank for $60 shipped, then pay $15-20 per ring for drilled rings.

Sad reality is, I need to financially pad before the October slaughter hits much more than I need to finish the project this is slated for. I'm just not quite desperate I'd take less than my current ask price.

Last price drop I can muster. If not sold by the weekend, I guess it's my sign I'm supposed to keep it.
