Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

As I wait for the bits to complete the interim build on the Litespeed (saddle and seatpost), I thought I'd start looking at the parts I'll need for the final build. I figured I'd go with 11 speed Ultegra, so I started looking at 6800 and r8000 bits on Ebay. I see lots of them at varying price levels, so my expectation is there will still be plenty come March, when I'm expecting the annual bonus. But I find myself fighting FOMO, even on things there's no shortage of.

It's possible I'm an idiot.

Yeah. For some of those 'hunts' you pre-select the animal you'll 'hunt' for the trophy of its antlers. Worth noting that the clubs that keep hunting records do NOT include those.

We crossed one time via ferry. It must have been more expensive than driving up river to the bridge.

He can live on the boat, so I'd just sell the house as a "fix'r'upper."

Probably, the bridges were essentially free. I walked across the US side bridge once, the way the deck bounced when a truck went by was unbelievable.

There is a overpass bridge close to our house that when you are stopped on it you can feel the flex from other traffic. It's kind of eerie feeling.

Not as eerie as feeling the sway in the STL Arch on a windy day though.

Back in 1987, for the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, they closed it to traffic and allowed people to walk on it. Over 300,000 showed up, and their combined weight caused a noticeable, though apparently not dangerous, sag.

"A" problem? I've got TWO problems! 1) Not enough space. 2) Not enough money. 3) the garage is often too cold to work on them.

THREE! Three problems! 1) Not enough space. 2) Not enough money. 3) the garage is often too cold to work on them. 4) Not enough sunny days to ride them.

FOUR! Four problems!....
