First day I met Gus, he gave me a hug.

So much love.
Man, it's sad to hear this. I met Gus after a ride back in August of 2019. Very affectionate, just hanging out outside, enjoying his sunny spot. Even took a picture:

Very sorry for your loss; hang in there. Takes about a year, but the hurt fades. Never stop missing them, tho...

Baddest cat in the whole damn town. Badder than ol' King Kong, meaner than a junkyard dog.

What a great photo; he looks like quite the character. <3

Yes, Boris is quite the character. He is very vocal, and his vocabulary is “colorful”. This is a picture of a friend that he brought home, of course we had to name her Natasha (she is a Russian Blue).

...well might one wonder which be the higher priority for felines; rest or alimentation

if one measures by the time expended in each activity per day it is no contest;

rest: ~20 hrs/day

alimentation: ~ five minutes per day

I don’t know what is in his brain. Could be magnetite - I’m pretty sure there’s not much gray matter. The cabinet was used for a stereo system and is open in the back but has since been repurposed for old linen storage. Like a lot of cats, he loves to sneak into any small space or open door. We had a cat that also liked to bed down in our washing machine if the door was left open.

The idea of a cat bedding down in the washer or dryer is terrifying to me.

Mine are hunters. Latte can provide for most of her food. And it can take hours.

The cats can bring in gophers, moles, mice, and shrews. A substantial goal amount of time might be spent waiting for a critter to surface.
