Grips for 23.8 Diameter Handlebars?
I have a set of Velo Orange porteur handlebars that I want to use on a project bike. VO has a brake lever that will fit but their grips only come in 22.2 diameter. I'd prefer a cork or cork blend grip but I might not have the luxury of being choosy. Can an ESI foam grip stretch enough to go onto 23.8 bars? If so, that may be my fall back option.
Thanks for any info you all can provide.

Good question. I’ve installed ESI grips on 22.2mm bars, and they were a very tight fit. But, they are very stretchy, so they might also install on 23.8mm bars. I have found that the only way I could install them, was to lubricate them liberally with WD-40. If you do get the ESI grips, I recommend the Extra Chunky.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll try to stretch some chunky ESI's onto the bars. If that's a no go, the basket weaves are a possibility. I may even try some thick bar tape or a double wrap of cork tape.

If you haven't yet, you might also reach out to the folks at VO. They seem like a helpful bunch and they might have the perfect solution for you. I'm sure they get feedback from people who've used those bars.
