How many tyres do you keep in stock?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Way more than necessary as I stock up on ebay deals.
Also have a few extra wheel sets including both clinchers and tubulars.
Recently had my Campy Omega wheel on Serotta snap a spoke.
Swapped in set of Mavic Aksium spare wheels set and took my time fixing the Omega spoke.
Both wheels ride great but I put the Omega's back on the Serotta Chorus setup so back to full Campy setup.

I keep at least one of each tire used on my bikes, so a minimum of 7 backup tires on hand.

Thanks folks. I see good price on the new Michelin tubeless tyres on PBK right now, so I think I'll pick up a set. That coupled with the tyres I already have should do we me well for the summer cycling season.

And yes, I am storing my tyres away from sunlight. Good to know they'll keep their life for a couple of years.

With shipping, they've been cheaper at LordGun lately. That's where I got mine.

I don’t keep any tires in stock. I have a spare older bike, ready to go. I buy tires when I need them. So far, so good.

I always have at least three complete pairs for each bike, although the spares for my hybrids are usually lightly used. Way too many wire bead tires in the closet right now. At least the folders take up less space.

My current favorite road bike tires are the Continental GP Classic and Soma Supple Vitesse skinwalls, but I also have two or three sets of Conti Ultra Sport II, an unsexy but remarkably good tire for less than $20. The only downside to the Ultra Sport is I need a bead jack to mount them. Mostly I use an Ultra Sport on the rear wheel for my Cycleops trainer, and can ride the same tire outdoors.

I always like to have at least one complete pair of any given size in stock at home. Given the supply-chain shortages that seem to be plaguing every industry this past year, I'm starting to think even that's not enough, so the last time I bought tyres I got two pairs

...and then promptly destroyed the pair that was on the bike, so now I'm back down to only one spare pair in that size.
