Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

possibly could disassemble it and and dork discs on either side of the chain. it uses a cheap method to tension the first chain: a bungee cord attached to a pulley. There's not an easy way to add a conventional derailleur: the main drive line is a chopped strand fiberglass tunnel with some fixtures bonded/bolted in to guide the chain to a narrow single speed hub that is the intermediate drive. It's not stiff and uses non-standard parts. Newer designed velomobiles have much better methods of running the chain to the drive wheels.

That sucks.

Those do look big, bulky, heavy, and not very good looking. Being a gadget/tech guy to some degree, I'd be interested in seeing how they work, but really have no desire to buy them.

Interesting concept, yes, must have, no.

Poor thing was scared out of its mind. But also everyone knows the best way to catch a cat is to put out a cardboard box.

There was a rider out this morning wearing an insulated vest. Seemed like overkill for 60F.

Looks like they're asking ~$450 for them. For that price, their compromised aesthetics would be a non-starter; their eye-magnet gizmo housing would put The Jerk's to shame.

Just because I was curious, I looked up that other one that I'd seen - https://gearjunkie.com/biking/everys...glasses-review

Yeah, it's ugly, too, though maybe not as ugly.

That concept was big in sailing for a while. Never saw anyone using them, but they don't let me near the fast boats.

I am, however, considering a cheap pair of cycling glasses with near inserts for when I get lost and need to read maps on my phone.

Agree. That said, I love a lightweight gilet for cool mornings when start temps are 55-60, easy to pitch into a back pocket when temps rise into the 60s.
