I was hoping to have a picture of me suffering in a race from this weekend, but unfortunately nobody seems to have taken a picture of me. It was my first ever mountain bike race, and somehow I ended up on the podium. Go figure...

Looks like WR was catching a nice draft off of two of my teammates. Here's me on the same day about 4-5 back (in the red, white and blue) thinking it might be prime time up around the bend. It wasn't.

Making a kilometer blurry
I dunno, I might go after 5-10 lbs after the end of this season. If I could get under 170 lbs again, that would be pretty useful for the W/kg...

That's ok. Like WR said, it's Houston...we're um, trying.
(not sure what my excuse is, I've only lived here 4 years)

me too, but what i was attempting to communicate is the fact that you don't look like some schmuck who played HS football, then spent countless years in the gym, developing floaters, so you could swat a softball farther than Jimmy-Bobby, only to give up softball, because there was some guy from Plano who won the Tour-day-Frayance, so he must be a god-ol'-boy like me.

Hi,
A couple of me trying to get off the front at our local Tuesday night race:
These are scans of prints that the photographer gave to me. The race was back sometime in April. I think I was retaining water that night. The break attempts did not work.

The burly little Roaring Mouse about 10 back is Nole, a teammate who won the crit and took 2nd in the RR that weekend. Modesto is about as close to hometown as it gets for him so he really wanted to throw down. Really bummed I missed that weekend, even though I'm not a fan of the heat (final exams )

EBC Crit a couple weeks ago, spent a few laps here and there on the front, attacking after primes, etc, trying to keep it stretched out and put a little bit of hurt on the early sprinters. Not sure it helped much, but better than being pack fodder. Gave a teammate an early leadout on the far side to get him back in the mix at the end.

I can't honestly say I was suffering too much here. Different crit, different day, same beefy field! Check out the Incredible Hulk behind me...
