Just got her built up today ! 2008 Synapse Carbon SL1 with 2010 SRAM Force. FSA K-Wing bar with matching stem and seatpost. All it needs are carbon headset spacers once I get it fit and dialed in. Pretty pedestrian to a lot of you but I'm stoked. Finally a flipped stem on a bike that's comfortable.

Nice TV!

That bike looks like it got run over. The carbon bikes I've seen break are typically at the tube seams and mostly headtube separation. Owww! Is all I can say.

Holy crap...on paper that ride looked pretty "safe". I guess you never know when/etc. Sorry to hear it and hope you're ok.

Glad you're OK. Did the driver stop? There must have been tons of cycling friendly witnesses too.

Yes the driver did stop in fact the vehicle had to be towed away and I was helicoptered to Reno, It was a support vehicle for some team n training riders. Gotta start looking for a new ride let me know if there are any deals out there in a 54cm

Thanks

I thought in most centuries private support vehicles are not allowed. I guess TnT buys enough spots that they get special treatment.

Why do you need a deal? I think after that, you could buy whatever bike you want.
What brand of bike are you thinking about?

Im glad you are ok, we were on the ride and were returning to incline village when we saw the helicoptors and heard the sirens and later drove past the scene. The SUV was pointing south with the windshield blown out with what looks like probably your head, shoulder? How did it happen, since the SUV looks to have been driving south as well??
Glad you are ok, all of us who did the ride were saddenned seeing the scene and kept wondering what happened and if the rider was ok.
I bet the SUV that was there to support feels like **** too, but they didnt get run over.
Anyways, very happy to hear you are ok. We went up from the san jose area as well.

Thanks for the concern, Actually I was stuck behind a slower rider who proceeded to stop for no apparent reason, I had avoid that collision and caught a small rut which crossed up my front wheel and launch me out into traffic. What saved my life was the fact that I was airborne when the car hit me. I was only doing that ride for my wife, Her first century anyway she ended up with 98.1 miles

Thanks again

I have been remiss in not posting this yet as I've had her for about 6 weeks, but here is my new (to me) Seven.

A 2004 titanium Alaris, recently painted jet black and picked up as a frame, along with a Reynolds Ouzo Pro carbon fork, on ebay. Built up with a mix of Campy Chorus, Record and Comp Triple components and DT Swiss RR585 wheels.

Here it is as it was rolled off the line/out of the garage...

And here is a recent pic showing it's current configuration... changed to Thomson seatpost and black Brooks B17 Special (the honey saddle just looked so wrong on a black frame)

So far, I'm loving the ride. She's already carried me along on two hard centuries in June. What else could I ask for?

It's Finally Done...

Here she is, the road bike which I've been collecting parts for for almost a year:

SOMA Smoothie Road Race, Campy Centaur build kit (Record RD, Racing Triple crank and FD), MOOTS stem and seatpost, Mavic SSC Classic Ceramics, etc.

It's my baby.
