One of the advantages of being single. And should Isadorah someday honor my home with her presence she can't cook worth a lick so I'm still safe. Maybe I should shoot for a mid 140s race weight. Wonder if I'd have a sprint left.

Hmmm. You may lose a little power. But as long as you keep working on it, I don't think you'll let it go too far down.

And I know you love and appreciate your woman. A wife isn't all about what she can do in the kitchen. But I would die if my wife lost her ability to cook. She is one of the best. Plus, she grows some of her own veggies and knows what to do with them. The other night she threw together a chicken dish with some stuff from the garden and a few other things. I got a woody from the first bite and had to excuse myself from the table. And she didn't follow any directions. Just put it all together. And she made her mashed potatoes. They're creamy rich and buttery. Just enough of this and that in them to make you forget about what a crappy day it was at work. And don't get me going on her homemade sweet biscuits with a glazed fruit topping and whipped cream... I need to be excused. Be right back.

By spring. That's my goal. If I can drop to 70Kg and at least keep my power numbers I'll be feeling real good about the season.

Maybe you're losing weight because you have to stop eating because of the woody thing. Hey, maybe you're onto something here. If you could market that somehow, write a book, an instructional video....

Interesting.

I hit a time barrier in my TT training, I just couldn't break 50 minutes no matter what I tried.

Then I heard about Wiggo losing 8kg and transforming himself from a track star to Tour GC contender.

So I lost 2kg, got down to 64kg, and the next ride I did a 48.5.

A whole fat 1.5 minutes off my PBT!

Contador weighs 62 kg, Andy Schleck is 6 foot tall*and tips the scales at 67kg!

I kept mine through the weight loss, and got faster. Wattage was lower, because more weight really helps the power when you're out of the saddle, but the result was still an improvment in the sprint.

192 lbs this morning. Yesterday morning was 194 but my pee looked like tap water all day. Maybe I overhydrated a little bit after Sunday's ride.

As it stands I carry spare clothes in my bag and I almost always have a 2nd set under my desk in case of emergency.

that said, I could take the bus if I had to- it is super convenient, but that takes money out of the "buy a 2nd wheelset" fund.

in my experience, when I lost weight I lost watts - but overall there was a W/kg gain so it worked out. I did more blasting on hills and trying to work the other guys over before arriving at the line- so maybe the tactics change a bit?

FWIW - I'm a lousy sprinter, always have been. That is a major goal for this year.

Back up to 181 this morning. Just normal fluctuation I think. I was 178.5 yesterday, I didn't eat 3 lbs extra yesterday.

Ate two spoonfuls of applesauce yesterday. woo! Nothing like the "don't eat anything for two days" diet.

2 Smokey Mountain chicken breasts.
1 bowl Honey Nut Cheerios w/ skim milk

Total, 920 calories, which only leaves me 1064 for the rest of the day, since it's an off day and I won't be burning any.

My office just held our annual "best chili" contest... 10 kinds of chili, others brought cornbread, salad, & pie.

I didn't eat too much - but that was larger than my usual lunch and I only had a few bites of any of them.

so good.
