I'm not car free, but I try to live as car light as possible (my truck is mainly used in the woods and on the beach). Currently I'm riding a 2010 Raleigh Clubman (road riding), a 2015 Salsa Marrakesh Flat Bar (Touring/SUV/Commuter), a 2015 Fairdale Parser (Townie/Commuter), and a 2016 All City Log Lady (SS MTB).

I have one bike. It's my commuter and my only mode of transport, although I am considering getting a single speed.

4 at the moment, 2 with me at home, 1 is at a co-worker's across town for her husband's heart condition(needs low intensity exercises), the other is still being built.
- Breadwinner B-Road(the gravel bike, still being built)
- Ritchey Road Logic Disc(the road bike)
- Velo-Orange Neutrino(the fun, around-the-town bike)
- Speciazlied HardRock Ultra 93'(commuter, at my co-worker's)

Honestly, I could probably do with just 2: road bike and a commuter bike. I'm car free, so I'll need a commuter/utility bike. I'm also mostly a road cyclist, so I'll need a road bike.
I got the Breadwinner built with endurance road geometry, so I could do comfortable long road rides on it more than gravel.

I'll see how much I enjoy the Breadwinner, and I may end up switching out the Ritchey Road Logic frame for a Ritchey Breakaway, but that'll probably be 2022 or 2023.

I've got 4 in the garage, all steel:
- Daily townie commuter and paved touring rig: 1984 Fuji Touring Series V
- Hardtail mountain bike for dedicated trail riding days: Niner SIR 9
- Vintage MTB drop bar conversion for offroad touring/camping: 1989 Trek 950
- Bike polo bike, which evolved from an old fixed gear rig that I stopped riding as my main commuter because of obvious reasons: Fyxation Eastside

3 bikes
Oldest one is a 2001 clermont mountain bike, it was my initial bike to begin riding around more difficult terrain.
A no name tiny pony bike that I learned to ride.
New one is a 2021 Giant Content 1 road bike, magnificent bike however there are some issues regarding the stock wheels.

I don’t have to the ride the same bike twice in the same month...but, I do! The cream of the cream rises to the top! Or...whichever bicycle is closest to the door...they’re all good!
Some are gooder, though...

I'm down to 3 from a high of 7. My best bike is pretty much strapped to a smart trainer indoors now, maybe for good. I also have a city traffic beater bike that gets utilized 99.9% of the time now, and a folding bike - mostly for picking up rental cars when I didn't own a car for 30 years. Been dreaming of a single speed adult sized BMX bike but not too lathered up over it. Yet.

This is where I have a problem. I have at least 25 bikes. It's too many I know, but I do enjoy most of them most of the time!
And hey, you've got to have at least: 1 x fast road bike, 1 x winter/tour/hack (panniers) road bike, 1 x hard tial MTB, 1 x FS MTB, 2 x CX, 1 x gravel, 1 x TT, 1 x Fat. Plus, a stupid sentimenal bike. That's 10 for anyone :-D

Between us we own 8. 3 are hers, 4 are mine and we co-own a tandem.
05 Silverback 3x9 tandem
93 Avanti Kona 2x8 RB
07 Avanti Cruz 3x8 RB
90 Fisher 3x7 Celerity MTB
08 Giant 3x8 Boulder MTB
16 Reid 1x7 City Bike Was 3x7, but converted 1x7 to simplify.
16 Reid 1x8 Mixte Was 1x7, but converted to 8 for lower gearing and twist grip.
17 Viva 1x1 Legato FG
We have bikes for the different disciplines and needs. The two Reids are for utility/errand and in my case commuting. The FG is just because I like riding fixed. But I have it set up to do utility/errand work, too. The other five are purely recreational.

Just the one, it's my ONLY transportation! 2007 SUN EZ-1 SX Recumbent, the wife rides a 2016 Terra Trike Rover X8 Recumbent Trike due to balance problems from being both a Type 2 diabetic and having heart problems! I wish we had more room in our tiny apartment as I'd like to buy a real cheap bike to be the grocery getter in case it got stolen!

Are stationary bikes counted? I haven't owned a real bike in ages and only purchased an upright exercise bike (Decathlon Domyos EB500) to get back to fitness during the pandemic. After spending almost a year on Zwift, I finally caught the cycling bug and am ready to ride in the real world. I'm currently in the market for a folding bike for recreational riding, commuting and the occasional grocery run.

0. Don't care for bikes.

Edit: Ha. That was a half drunk joke last night after spending all day cussing at non-compatible parts and calling it quits with no functional ride(borrowed a friends this morning)

anyway my real answer in 2. A tourer and a racer. Both vintage ten speeds. A portable folder may be in the future.

mtb, bmx or single speed would be cool but serve no purpose in this flat rural town

I have had the same bike (giant iguana) since I was 14.

Now in my 30’s I bought 2 90s Treks in the past month.

Too cheap not to with the price of new bikes.

also, not sure if vintage is cool or I am that old
