Hey y'all, my apologies if I'm past when is typical to respond, as this is my first time on this sticky. I would be interested in either frame. I recently picked up a 1980 Univega Speciallissima, very similar to the Miata 1000, but it is a bit too small for me at 57cm ST. The frame is in excellent condition, appears to be mostly garage kept.

Attaching a few photos, happy to provide more if there's interest! (Pardon funky stem, I was playing with options to try to make the bike fit)

My attempts to swap didn't quite pan out so figured I'd start with a fresh post.

I am looking for an 80s steel sport tourer to build up as a rando style bike, perhaps converting to 650b. I picked up this 1980 Univega Speciallissima and while I've really enjoyed it, it's just a bit too small for me to start dumping money into. It's right around 57cm CTC on the seat tube, 56cm on the top tube. Currently sporting lots of original components, including a suntour Cyclone-II derailleur.

Looking for a suitable candidate for the described above. Low trail, able to fit wider tires, perhaps front rack mounts, on a 60cm or so frame. Open to swapping frames or whole bike.

Well this ones "special".. Drove 4 hours and picked it up, primarily for the French thread Campy headset and Phil Wood Swiss bottom bracket and other useful but tired bits. I figured I'd pass the frame on to some one a bit taller. I got it mostly stripped down cleaned and waxed, and noticed that something wasn't quite right.... crap she's been crashed.

So according to WIX and SWAG the head tube is 1 degree steeper and canted .75 degree to the side The drop outs are around 126mm, but the extra 6 mm is on the drive side. Of course I'm referencing off a canted headtube...
The top and down tubes have more of a gentle bend and there are no obvious buckles of paint damage. The fork looks ok but could have lost a couple mm of rake. I'm pretty sure that most of this is correctable, but not by me.

I'm still looking for a 23" ish 73 ish Raleigh Competition( paint optional) , but I would certainly take any kind randonneur junk...Mafac Raids or Cantilever's, fenders, a bell or other Wampum.....

Got a 24" (~61CM) 1982 Trek 613 that can be seen here. Looking for a honeycomb dropout Gitane in the 55-58CM range or a BOB trailer/Xtracycle. Some sort of narrow-ish cargo equipment that is not a baby stroller, pretty much. Located north of the SF Bay area. Open to other 55-58CM trade options of equal value if you're close enough to not require shipping.

Well folks,
There is too much junk in the Mad Honk's trunk! So today's offer is a PDG one frame and fork in 58cm. This one comes with tricolor front D and tricolor rear D. Fist generation of oversized tubes. Usual rules: First to PM me is first in line, and cost of shipping from Bloomington, IN. Pics:

Frame and fork Powder coated in bright white. No decal set is available for this model so it is without Paramount markings. PDG 3 is available from Velocals/

First generation of fork and frame is a Waterford, so no uni-crown fork Chrome tips on both frame and fork.

Serial number is blocked off so easily readable, but should get clear coated. Serial number is: 580 DMW D91041

There is still too much junk in the trunk! Jdawg passed on this one and the War Department is still ready for war after the Ciooc showed up. This is my 1984 Othon Ochsner that I bought new. Very few miles, but has been re-coated in blueberry metallic. 57cm and six speed rear spacing. (Tubing set requires 26.8 seat post) it is now too tall for me to comfortably stand over. That darned shrinking human disease! So it is looking for a new home to possibly appease the WD and remove more junk from the trunk. The usual rules: first to respond by PM, and new owner pays cost of shipping and promises to show it built up here in BF. Smiles, MH

Mad Honk, wow, that is quite a nice freebie. I have one, not sure what year, that I bought new in 1992. It is 57 cm and was originally one of the blue ones, I believe Aelle tubing. Mine was powder coated a few years ago, and has the original DRs, brake calipers and crankset. It has been switched from downtube 6 speed indexed levers to Tiagra 9 speed STI levers. Mine really is too big for me, but I make it work with a shorter stem and lowered seatpost. I do not ride it much anymore, but hold on to it for no reason.

Someone is going to wind up with a nice riding, classic looking frameset. If yours was a 54 cm, I would take it and pass mine on to someone else as part of the deal. That would be sweet. Whoever claims this will not be disappointed, a very generous offer.

The Ochsner brand is what brought us into contact in the first place. This one is probably one of the better handling bikes I have ridden and that has been a lot. Nice tight, crisp, and responsive is the way to describe the way this bike handles. I'm just too damned short to ride it anymore and it should go to a rider who will appreciate it as the bike it is. It is quite possible that I may have a line on a shorter Ochsner in the royal blue and Aelle tubing. Let me know. Smiles, MH

I remember that MH. I would be interested in a 54 cm. Then would pass mine on to someone it fits. I would definitely ride it more. Like you, I have some shrinkage and prefer riding my bikes that fit best. Thanks much.

- this one is a 60cm ctt . Beautiful paint and chrome and decals intact. Need frame one or two sizes smaller (22.5 or 21.5 inch). Looking for trade for another TDF (or Super Corsa) frameset of similar vintage and condition. If you don’t need trade willing to buy.

Hello everyone,
I hope this is allowed. I have some frames that I don't fit and no longer have the time or resources to work on, so I'd like to give them to BF members before I take them to the bike co-op within a week or so. One is a ctc 55cm Daccordi Griffo with most of the braze-ons filed off and a missing bottle cage boss. It's a bit of a project, but if you think you can handle, you can take it. Fork is included. The second frame is a what I believe to be a 1983 Miyata 1000, size 56cm ctc. The frame is cosmetically challenged, but the are no structural compromises like dents or severe rust. The one real caveat is that bottom bracket is that proprietary Suntour unit that requires a special tool to remove; the PO couldn't remove it and neither can I. Otherwise, it's a decent project.
At this point I would like to give it to someone who is local within the Bay Area, but if you are not located here I am sure we can work something out with the facilitators. If you would like more information or photos on the frames let me know and I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities in a timely manner.
