Mint? LOL, I’ll have to post some of my own pics. These were from Craigslist where I found it. I jumped at it simply because I have a 1972 Raleigh Grand Prix in green and even though it is a little tall for me it is absolutely the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden. Everything except the tires/tubes/pads and cables are original. I have a modern Avocet racing seat on it and while I still have the original hoods and matching bar end plugs (also tan), there tan color clashed with the metallic green so I replaced them with black which matches the seat and black paint on the seat tube. I actually found green bar end plugs to match the bar tape
For the Technium I took close up pics of the Technium 440 logos and emailed them with the measurements to make replacements for me so I’m waiting for them to respond back to me. I purchased a White seat and matching bar tape today too.I'm leaving the bike it’s original color. It is actually a very close match to Pontiac Silver/blue metallic engine paint they used

Scott, It's funny that you mention the Grand Prix. The bike I had before the Technium was a 1980 Grand Prix. It got stolen in '85, but although I have four bicycles now, none of them ride like my Grand Prix did. At 23 12", it was a little too big for me, too. The personality that it had when going around corners, bumps, divits was just perfect. Is your white Selle Saddle a current model? Did you find my list of components? Paul

For what it's worth, the 1989 catalogue that I used to select my Technium had four levels of Technium road bike (Pre, Pro, Sport and Comp?), all 6061-T8 maintubes. I remember noticing the fact that all the frames were identical. Whether special orders of steel ones were available at the time, I do not know, but they weren't in the catalogue.

Yeah, I love that Grand Prix. I've had a lot of offers for it but It's not for sale.
The Selle Saddle ,I'm not sure if it is a current model or not. I'll check it out and let you know.

Yes I did find that list of components. I copied them into a windows document and now the search is on.

Hi. New here. Not to bikes

I need to make some more post so I can show pics. Found a beautiful beast at local thrift store. Has 88 in serial no. so that should make it a 89. The lugs, fork and rear tri are white. The main tubes are anodized teal/blue has 2x7 600 tri-color biopace. Araya ct-19 Super Hard Anodized. There is a "TEAM" sticker down the fork in blue. Tech on down tube. Aluminum and Raleigh st front of top tube and black white "camo" decal section with a small pink stripe above it, I will be posting pics soon. I do have high functioning autism and I nerd out sometimes or get wierd/moody, sorry in advance. I work at a bike shop (family) been doing it since 90 and find stuff all the time when treasure hunting here and there. Thank you and hope to get photos up soon.

we all have our secrets and fetish style/type. I just love making a bike what it can be and not what was when it showed up at my feet, unless it only needs tires and TLC to be good. This is my main plague, I will move stuff around and do resto mods on a lot of bikes if they need it. Classic bikes that are complete and in good condition need not be butchered. Colorizing the bikes with what is on the bike is fun if done tastefully.

Looking a the Sheldon Brown page and worked the serial no. and it was built Feb 89 so that should be a 90 bike. The decals are very 90's

As I stated in the thread you started for this bicycle, it is a 1989 model, not 1990,as the 1990 version of the Team used Reynolds 753, Shimano New Dura-Ace components and had different graphics. The 1989 Raleigh Technium Team was a standard model, not a unicorn.

Just picked up a Raleigh Technium

Hey guys/gals,

I just picked up a Raleigh Technium 450 off CL for $70 and it seems in great condition. I was looking for a town cruiser and this seemed to fit the bill. I am trying to figure out what year? I'm in the process of stripping it, cleaning, and replacing some standard stuff (tires, tape, saddle, etc.). I'm excited and I hope I can get some insight on the details of the bike. Thanks!

*edit*
Apparently I cannot upload a photo yet since I am a pleb. So what would be the best way to find out more details about the frame? Thanks for the help.

Saw this on Garage sale day in West Seattle, I actually turned around to go take look since at a distance I thought it was a Centurion IM, it was Raleigh's answer the Scott Tinley edition Tri-lite. @$250 I took a pass. It did have a cyclone rd.

1991 Technium Peak

Just restored a 1991 Technium Peak, Raleigh USA’s top mountain bike model. Beautiful bike, love the pink decals and purple leopard anodized tubes! But, it is too small for me

1986 Technium 440 (aluminum main 3 tubes, steel fork, lugs and rear triangle). Bought on Maui for $20, but required new tires and chain. Rides great.

Picked this up yesterday. '93 RT550. Alum tubes in main triangle and an aluminum seat lug. Everything else is steel. Shimano 600 group set. Crisp handling, though a little harsh compared to my all steel PDG7.

I think $250.00 is fair if everything checks out.

Hi. Did you get the Technium up and riding? If you send me the number on the bottom of the bottom bracket, I'll tell you what year the bike is.

I thought I had posted this here but doesn’t seem to be the case. Built a nice Technium 420 and recently sold it. Lower end Technium with stem shifters and turkey levers. Ditched both of those and it totally changed the bike’s curb appeal.

The Origin8 shifter boss adapter looks pretty on C&V machine when you polish it.

Question regarding seat

Asking for a friend..

“My question is what is that hole for? It’s on either side. I figured out how to clamp down the seat post it with the lower hole on the left-hand side of this hole in this picture”

i wasn’t able to attach the picture or link. Below the seat clamp on the outside are two holes he’s referring to.

You've got a hole on both sides of your seat lug? It's only supposed to have one (an exit for your rear brake cable housing).
