New de Bernardi Verona Frame - anyone have info?

Good day,

New de Bernardi Verona Frame - anyone have info? Things I know, brand new, never built. Have researched on interweb. White with blue lettering, very striking.

Hydro formed aluminum w/full carbon fork. My size in general. LBS has and wants $300 for it.

Does anyone have experience with this bike and or builds of this brand/bike?

Thanks in advance...

Found very little info on line about this frame. I did find this small bit: ||||||| ZAR International - deBernardi: verona ||||||| (zarbikes.com)

Looks like a basic aluminum frame, good for all uses. If it comes with the fork, 300 bucks is a fair price.

I would guess the De Bernardi name was purchased and it is most likely a generic aluminum frame bike with a cool name.

Components are important, but for $300 new, they are probably as low end as possible. If it rides and shifts well, and you like it, not a lot to lose.

I’m surprised De Bernardi is still going - you don’t hear much about them. My first “decent” frame was a DB Cromor - lugged Columbus steel bought new in 1995 - also for $300 . Well made, comfortable and stable, and a beautiful metallic pale blue. When I upgraded, I kept the DB as a fixie and then as a single-speed runabout. Still have it.

As it hangs in shop...

Thanks for feedback. Had seen ZAR website before posting. LBS is offering frame for half what he has it priced.

At 1.25 kilo for frame, think I can put some Campy Silver Athena 11 speed that I have and build a nice light bike.

That Athena is probably well worth more than that frame, these days since they don't make it and now do Potenza which I don't think quite has the same look.

The white DeBernardi pictured below is the best bike i've ever owned. I'd grab the one pictured for $300 in a heartbeat. Its from the early 2000's. Athena would look right at home on it . But another poster mentioned Zar international. They imposted De Bernardi, Ciocc, Guerciotti back in the 90's

Actually called Roberto at ZAR yesterday. Just answered phone, Hello. Still thinking about it.

He did say frame was made in Italy.

Thats awesome -- Roberto sold my frame to my bike shop when they custom ordered it for me in 1995

You have a goldmi...or probably I should say that stuff is worthless, yeah it's worthless I will buy all three for $100 so it isn't cluttering up your place. The $100 is just charity you don't want that old crap laying about Campy has Ekar now 13 speeds not some old kludgy vintage crap

Not gonna happen! All are mounted and being used. Everything brand new only comes mostly in black or dark grey. Vintage bikes deserve silver colored gruppos! Even if you have "resto modded" them. Have a early 2000s Gunnar Roadie (700.00), I picked up recently with nearly spotless paint and what appears to be NOS Campy Daytona triple ring. Cassette and chain ring profiles are not worn at all. Simply gorgeous!

Gunnar link here, Another look what followed me home post...

The build begins!

Found lightly used Campy Bullet 50 wheels form early 2010's. Previous owner removed decals, left tons of residue from them. New bike takeoff Full Centaur group including cockpit to install, so basically new and very fairly priced. I know it's black. Came off Bianchi Aria. Silver Athena is out there but WAY overpriced currently.

Waterford in back for frame comparison on size/geometry. Hard to tell, but rear axles are resting on each other for alignment. Picture does not do top or down tube shaping justice. Will have more pics when finally finished.

I had a steel DeBernardi. Columbus Thron tubing. I was a pretty nice bike. Their new branding looks like a campaign logo. DeBernardi for senate 2022.
