What about Montagna bikes?
I just bought a Montagna MTN Sport frame off Ebay, but I have never heard of this brand, and couldn't any info, either here on BF or elsewhere on the web. But it was very cheap and looks like a pretty nice frame. It's a rigid steel MTB frame, with TIG-welded EX 4130 triple-butted tubes, bosses for a U-brake, low-rider bosses, a very slack head angle, and a 3-tone blue-white-yellow paint job. Does anybody know anything about this company or model? I'll try to post some pix later, but I haven't received the frame yet.

Don't know if your Montagna frame is the same company that built my Montagna frame; and like you, I've not found any info whatsoever on mine.
Here are a few pics for your comparison, namely head badge and downtube logo....

Funky bottom bracket:
Mine is made of Tange MTB double butted steel, seat tube is ovalized at the BB, and the rear end is really compact, presumably for stiffer, shorter, and therefore better climbing carachteristics.
The whole shebang is Tig welded and appears to be well made.
Interested to see pics of yours...

i have two they are exactly alike one of them is a project and the one in the pictures is the one i currently ride. quick facts the tubes are chrome moly i have a biopace sprocket if you want to know what is special about it go here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biopace the project bike is behind the sheet if you have any questions just reply.

Dia-Tech something or other. Hombre, maybe? Bought them from Niagara Cycles several years ago for a song (like 15$ or something). They are machined and super close tolerance where the arms cross over each other. The sweet red anodizing has faded to a more pinkish color, giving the bike a bit of a feminine touch. I still like it, though.

Adding some info to an old thread, since this comes up in a Google search. I saw a Facebook posting were Kevin Dwyer says he designed this bike for Leeworld, owned by Bob Lee in Taiwan. You can see the BMX influence.

I listened to California made Montagna MTN Sport bike. But I am not sure but I can help you by giving some information. It 23 inch Frame Good for riders 6ft or taller. But the problem is many people could never find information on the brand.

I inherited a 22" yellow Montagna Mountain Sport in 1999 from my father-in-law (was used by my brother-in-law). It had a bike shop sticker (The Bicycle Shope, Carmichael, CA). There's nothing really special about it, I just liked the geometry, fit my 6'3" frame well. I also like the unique welded on chain stay fin called "Cuda Finn System".
