Identify partial Campy group set?
Hi. This is a CL sale; Seller claims its Campy Record but I'm not sure. The FD is Chorus but not sure about the Cranks. I am going to do more searching via Ebay.
Can anyone identify if the cranks are indeed Record? The seller has other components for sale; but seems like a mixed set.

Cranks are Corsa Record aka C-Record. (Although after a while they dropped the C and they just became Record.)

Hard to see the derailleurs, I'd take a guess at 8 speed Chorus or Record - to be honest there wasn't much different between the two during that era - Athena also looked similar.

Cranks are Corsa Record aka C-Record. (Although after a while they dropped the C and they just became Record.)

I think I'll do some more research on the going values for this group set.

8s Ergos are great. You can run the whole setup with Shimano 7 speed hub/cassettes (Campy 8s gears are tougher to source). Google "Shimergo."

The easy way to ID those Campy cranks is there are only 4 visible chainring bolts. The fifth screws in from behind the crank arm. Also they take different chainrings than the other sets because of the bolt alignment.

Yes Record cranks with the 5th arm of the spider “hidden” behind the crank arm. Ergo or downtube shifters, either way, very nice groupset. I’ve never tried the 7 speed Shimano angle and use 8 speed Campy cassettes. Wheels manufacturing makes spacers so that you can use 8 speed Shimano cassettes and free hubs. The only challenge with the Campy 8 speed is that not all Campy cassettes work on every 8 speed freehub. Plenty of good info on that here and Branford bike site. Look up “Exa Drive” to get you started.
