Rudi, very clever! And I was writing about the Christmas star in my sermon for the 24th just before I opened this thread.

BTW, I checked the BB shell on my '71 as I left this morning, and it is blank. Not a mark, nor a letter, nor a number.

I'll accept his definition for the star, but not for the BB. I'm convinced it's a generic Japanese shell as on the Superiors.

Kurt, I saw your post to Dave Hellekson in the thread on the Waterford forums. Dave left Waterford a couple of years ago, so you probably won't get a reply.

You mean that thread dated back that far?

Is the star inspired by the Schwinn crest?

Yep; it was a zombie. The post before yours was by Dave Hellekson on February 2, 2006 (nearly seven years ago).

Almost there, Rudi, I think it means that it was welded by the Magi.

So it has a star on the BB shell and is painted in a non-production color for the given production year. Coincidence, I think not.

Fascinating read, and right on time for the spirit side of the holidays. Hey, a six pointed star on that speckled green background has gotten my normally empty soul back into a spiritual mojo. That small imperfection next to the star almost looks like an eclipse. I’d hide that thing or people will start showing up at your doorstep wanting to worship it.

Anyways, Happy Holidays all you C&V posters...yadda,yadda,yadda.

I believe that's Balthazars' welding mark .
After dropping off the gifts in Bethlehem,
the Magi reurned to their home a different way.
I think they went by C&V bikes .
Can't imagine anything less than a Paramount.

If that's the case, I might buy one.

Fair warning, she will be incredibly small.
