Showing off my 09 Specialized Roubiax Pro SL SRAM purchase
Well, since I saw another new Roubiax post tonight, I can help myself but to post my new purchase. Just received a gently used 2009 Roubaix Pro SL SRAM. Bought it from someone in Arizona. He had it professionally packed by a LBS and shipped Fed-Ex Ground. Nervous as hell it would get damaged in the trip, but the packing job was excellent and it arrived in perfect condition. I just assembled/adjusted it a couple nights ago (previous life worked in a bike shop before college, then desk jockey.) Took it out for a short 6 mile shakedown ride last night. Very nice.
Weighed the bike after I assembled....16.5 lbs. :-)
I'm a Camelbak fan, so probably no cages.
Had to buy new shoes...my old Duegi's cleat mounts aren't compatible with today's technology!
Anyway, pixs of the assembly and bike, as well as a photo of it next to my old (but good) Palo Alto.

The blue steelie in the back looks interesting. What is it?
Oh yeah, that Specialized is okay, I guess.

The steelie is a bike I built up 25 or so years ago. I bought the frameset from Palo Alto Bicycle Company in CA and built from there. Check out the pedals. A Shimano Deore design with a oversized thread into the crank. Put the bearing inside the crank to place the platform on the centerline. Can't find parts for that anymore! Also has an 'antique', Cateye on it that still works great. Around 23.5 lbs as shown.
Here's some "White garage door pixs" (Sorry)

That's a nice pair of bikes. That's quite the jump from downtube shifters to SRAM Red. I wonder which one you'll prefer?
