Caad 10
What is my CAAD 10 worth? Ultegra rear derailleur and pedals, 105 Ft derailleur, crank and breaks. Also, where should I sell my bike? eBay, CraigsList, Pro's Closet, etc.

eBay means you have to pack and ship at a reasonable cost. Buyers have been spoiled by Amazon free shipping. I sell on eBay and I’m asked constantly for free shipping. My response is a somewhat nicer version of “let me know who can deliver it for free and I will happily drop it off”.
and eBay means lots of fees for sellers and you will get a pesky 1099.
Selling locally depends on location. Some areas you can get full value, others you won’t get close.
on modern bikes, start with bicycle blue book, their pricing is low but that will be the guide buyers use too.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.

I would expect that the Pro's Closet would want to make at least 30%. Cost to transport to them?
Ebay, will take I expect a 15% total slice.
Both those might also require the cost shipping which has skyrocketed.
Bike presents clean, bonus.

This works out to be 20%. But wait, there's MORE! If your total transactions are $600 for the year or more, congratulations! You will now get a 1099 (Income taxes). It is up to the seller to document their expenses. But if you are an active seller, its not hard to have another 15% or more in income taxes, not including state. Pretty soon you can be up to 30% or higher.
Yet still ebay can make sense as you can reach a nationwide or even international market. Makes even more sense if you live in a mediocre local market (my case). On the smaller stuff, it works out better. Wheelsets, frame sets, and complete bikes, the costs really climb. More and more on the bigger/hard to pack stuff, I just donate. Donated the last Cannondale I had, 9 speed STI bike. Pretty nice. The co-op appreciated it!
Sold a set of wheels and a frameset yesterday. So I spend quite a bit of time packing....Wheels went to the West Coast, so shipping was higher which means ebay fees are higher. Buyer wanted two frames, but wanted one shipped for free, and me to knock off $$$ in price too. The concept of free shipping is so funny. Its free to the buyer, but as a shipper, its anything but free. I call it the Amazonization of America. Just wish I enjoyed Amazon's shipping costs.
