Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks like we will have 5 riders for our Tuesday ride, up from the usual 2 or 3. Not the pizza route today, probably the Cannoli stop this time.

Hence why I don't help my wife with her phone anymore. Helps that she has an iPhone and I have a Droid. Easy to just say I'm not familiar with the iPhone system and she should get one of our kids to help her.

Sounds exactly like my LSS making ME the LSS when she periodically screws up her tech stuff.

Mrs. rjones28 is more tech-savy than me. Hell, she's more tech-savy than half the IT department where she works.

Well that's always the case anyhow. Every time I talk with one of my sons I learn something new. On any topic.

I deeply regret allowing my tech savvy to slip away. I'm considering getting into Python a bit just to rescue a small portion of savvy.

I'm way more tech savvy than my wife. She can't even touch the TV remote without screwing something up. I kid you not.

I continue to lose weight. 168 the last couple days. I try to eat more, but there is just no place to put it. I am not yet gaunt, by my wife's standards. I drink a third of her protein smoothie for breakfast, then go for my ridiculously short ride, come back home and I'm not hungry until noon or one. I am staying hydrated though. And I am still carrying an innertube around my waist.

Last week, I arranged a time for my dad to do a videocall with my son and daughter, but I was going to be out on a ride. I told my son that Grandpa didn't know what he was doing, so that he should log in and keep an eye out for when Grandpa logged in/opened the app and take it from there. When I talked to my dad a couple days later, he told me about how he had opened the app, didn't know what he was doing, but that my son called him a minute later and then walked him through the camera settings, etc because his video wasn't showing.

I hate the innertube. I normally maintain svelteness except for the damn innertube.

My wife, who's a nutritionist, says it's the carbs. I'm addicted to carbs so I can't argue with her.

The Boy's phone is activated and he has a phone number. Oy vey.

FWIW, I did try to get him a NYC number, we figure that a 212 area code is his birthright since he was born in Manhattan, but no dice.
