My first vintage bike
I've been shopping around on ebay and CL for a few months looking for a decent 80s road bike for the right price. Finally settled on this Centurion. I believe it's an 89 Ironman Master. Full 600 group. Frame and components are all in pretty good shape. I just put new tires, cables and bar tape on and swapped the levers for modern Tektros. The stock hoods where white and in rough shape. I have new black hoods on the way and will put the original levers on when I get those.

Anyone know if that example is the very last of the Ironmen? My Centurion Diamondback Expert TG (1990?) had a very similar paint scheme and I've been told that that was the model that succeeded the Ironman in the Centurion lineup.

From my reading on Sheldon Browns site, 89 was the last year. He has an pretty in depth article about Centurion. And yeah, looks like the same paint scheme

When I took the job, the official line was "Expect to work every Sunday and often on Saturdays, too." They didn't mention the the Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays part. It's been cray!

the position set up though leaves me thinking the saddle is wrong for your anatomy and or too high. When perched you will always be fighting sliding forward.
the brake levers are of a different era- but I think too low. Unless you are spending 90% of your time in the hooks.
referencing position often takes another to image you while riding ( to ref saddle height)
or from the side to reference torso and arms.
Video from behind to watch your pelvis possible rotating about the saddle.
long ago I was handed photos of me racing on the track, was my first year and took “saged advice” I reworked my position entirely. Started winning races.

Driving the mail, these days. Got a job with the USPS, bought a RHD Subaru wagon, working six days every week, sometimes 12-14 hours a day and making more money than I have in my life. (Not saying much there, but still).
When I took the job, the official line was "Expect to work every Sunday and often on Saturdays, too." They didn't mention the the Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays part. It's been cray!

a decade ago I test drove a Japan spec car for a month. Had to take a 8 hour behind the wheel course to make sure I was adapted to the driving position. Parallel parking was easier but weird.
