Just finished painting a Trek 700 frame that I'm going to try to turn into a drop-bar SS conversion. Surprisingly, given my novice status in bike painting and mechanics, I am pleased with how it turned out and I am looking forward to getting this project finished. However, I just bought the Jobst Brandt wheel-building book and I want to try my hand at building the wheelset for this one. So this is going to take a while.
But I did succeed in cleaning up my work space. So I have that going for me at the moment.

I'm in the process of trying to remove a regina freewheel from a sunshine high flange hub. I have it loosely laced 3x, on one side only, to an old 26" rim. I've tried it using the qr skewer, and am thinking of removing the hub guts and running a bigger bolt throuigh there.

I just finished building new 'every-day' wheels for Geraldine, to replace the rims I tweaked in my crash. Still waiting on tape and hoods (enroute). The will learn about the status of the right pedal - ugly cosmetic rash or bent...

Just finished up putting new tires, tubes, brake pads and a shorter stem on the new to me Schwinn. I think I have her dialed in now. Took a few fast laps around the neighborhood. I love the Corsa`s. They make a very noticeable difference in ride quality.

Tossed on Soma Vitesse SLs (700x38) on my Nature Boy today.
I use A23s on that bike and I had zero issues.
Our ride was a mix of hard packed gravel, shallow sand, city streets and MUPs to get to the river trail.
Nice tires you guys.
Not a true gravel tire, but I'd say its a sweet all rounder.

Well, I am slowly working on a restoration of a 1974 Raleigh Competition. Not in much hurry, though. Frame is painted, parts are polished. Deciding on decals and whether to change the old 27" rims for 700c. I am most active on converting a 90's Bianchi Eros to 650B. Wheels are done. Paint stripped from the frame and there is a bit of brazing to do to repair or modify. I will have to dimple the inside of the chainstays for the new tires to fit. I have never done this but it seems straight forward.
Oh, then there is the standard maintenance stuff for my 45 year old daily commuter.

Building up my '97 GT National Team frame with a new SRAM Rival 22 group, threadless carbon fork and some nice, used, Mavic Cosmic Carbone wheels. Very close to completion, look for pics in the "before and after" thread soon.

I just finished cleaning, and repacking with fresh grease, the BB on an older Raleigh hybrid. The bike had minimal use from it's previous owner, and the BB looked fine. You never know. Better safe than sorry.

I'm putting the finishing touches on a hot pink 1988 Centurion LeMans. Upgraded the 6 speed uniglide free hub to a seven speed hyperglide. Installed new 7 speed Shimano brifters, new chain, tires, pedals, brake pads, etc. etc. etc. It's a real low mileage cherry bike. Will post some pictures here soon.

Not much in the last week or so. Was cleaning fixed gear chain before a 5 am ride with a buddy. Finger got pulled into rear cog. End came off, put it in bag with ice and got it sewed back on. Got home from emergency by 8 am and rode. Just not quite there on getting into any big projects until it heals more.

I had a chainring grab a finger some months ago. Took a bite out, I can tell you, not pleasant.

Trying to clean up three unfinished projects, the '58 Sun, '89 Free Spirit ATB and my brain is working on a concept for the 23 1/2" '85 Raleigh Rocky. Maybe a drop bar conversion? The Sun has a worn chain and chain ring but the free wheel is OK. Steel vs alloy?

A bike I just acquired had two different rims, luckily I had a match for one of them. I brought them to work today, sat down in front of the tv and watched the Tour while lacing the matching rim. Got it done and went to put the tire on. Thats when I realized I just laced up a 27'' rim for a 700c tire. Oh yeah. So thats what I'm wrenching on...

Started a new build this weekend. 73 PR10 frame had just been degreased in this photo, next I filled the myriad paint chips and scratches with spot putty, sanded the original Peugeot orange-peel orange finish smooth, and then painted the lugs black. Letting the lugs cure now before a second coat, then cure some more, then mask and spray the tubes orange. Then cure, decals, clearcoat, cure some more. You can see my color match on the lower third of the steerer tube.

I took my McLean out yesterday and today. Yesterday I rode on the rail trail, and today, my wife and I rode on roads. I tipped the saddle down a bit and the handlebars down a bit.

I'm in the early stages of my first bike restoration. I've never worked on bikes before, so I'm learning everything as I go. So far, I've got all the parts off, scrubbed the grime off the frame, and decided it needs repainted. Most of the bits are in better shape than I thought they would be, so I'll be able to reuse most of it. Oh, the bike is a Galaxy II Park Excellence. As far as I can tell it's Korea's box store bike from the 80s. It was free, so good for making mistakes and learning the basics!

I did my first bike restoration/refurb on an '85 Schwinn World Sport, which was also free. That was five years ago and the start of this madness. Enjoy the process!
For me, I'm reassembling my big hoss Nishiki rain/end-of-the-world/winter commuter bike after 9 months, 5-6 of which were during Seattle's record-breaking winter in regards to rain. Brutal stuff. Full tear down and cleaning of every part left me with grey-black hands many times (to the Dawn dish soap we go! Again!). For being a 68cm frame, having 700x35 tires (Michelin Pilot Trackers, which are heavy yet bomb-proof) and full fenders keeps her proportional. And I now have a metallic red bike again!
Bit of a parts change out. I ran super smooth Sora 3x9s to a 105 5503 triple FD and an XTR Rapid Rise (haha!) with a 52/42/28 Biopace-ringed Ultegra crank and an 11-34 cassette--flawless setup, meaning you can do it too with nobody to tell you it won't work/work well! Now, having resurrected 7700 Dura Ace 2x9s that I got for $10, I'm putting a 6600 crank (53/39) and changing out the XTR RD for my bought-new Sora 9-speed. 32T cog limit but it, via hand actuation, clears the 34T cog. If it doesn't work, I'll just go back to the XTR.
Shorter stem installed, new rear pads, and I'll eek a little more out of the big orange/rain pads in front. Larger front fender flap now goes to 1/4" off the ground (such a cool look, and should keep me drier), and a few adjustments to the fender's setup and positioning should allow me to run the front tire at 60 PSI vs 40-45 PSI as before the higher pressure caused rubbing... You can run these babies at 30 PSI no problem (at least in the front) as the sidewalls are about 1/8" thick--you'll be slower, but you won't notice deformation. Hilarious.

Just finished a '79 Colnago and rapidly clocking miles in on it. So refreshing, just feel like dropping everthing else and go ride..lol. With that, resisting to do any further bike work with the exception of helping out a fellow forum member on his first project. Rather unusual Trek thats a more involved project. He's back logging and I'm pushing him to 'git er' done. Just did all his bearing repacks today. Call it a bearing clinic at the picnic table 
Lots of other things happening as well so I'm trying to temper and balance it all. From a complete DIY kitchen rehab to starting this week on making a body for a '13 Caddy. Thats 1913. Wood and sheet metal fun.
Also have an eeny meeny miny moe thing with these two>
