After a Colonoscopy?
How do I go about getting nutriments back into my body and ready to ride ASAP after having to drink that God awful colon prep formula?

Nutrients won't be a significant problem. Other issues might be for a couple of days. Just resign yourself to allowing your body a couple of days to get back to normal before resuming a full training regimen. Eat frequent light meals until everything is working the way it is supposed to.

Don't ride the day of the scope.
Be wary of the day after, although if you receive propofol it probably won't be an issue.
By the second day, knock yourself out.

Eat some yogurt with probiotics in it. It should be labeled "live and active cultures". I didn't dare ride for a couple of days after my last colonoscopy and took it easy for the first couple of rides.

I had propofol for my procedure and it took about 24 hours until I felt back to normal. After that I resumed my normal exercise routine.

This thread is timely, I am going in for one on Wednesday and was wondering how much recovery time I should plan for. I was thinking I could do a medium effort/distance ride on Friday. That would be a full 48 hours after the procedure is done.

Hi All, and thanks for the info!
All went well, had 2 large polyps removed and the doc doesn't seem concerned.
I was somewhat tired when I got home, but blame that on the fact that I was up most of the night before as the colon prep did what it was suppose to do. After 11 hours of sleep I felt well enough to go for a short easy ride to check out the plumbing. The ride was without incident.
One funny story, the nurses and anesthesiologist were somewhat concerned by my heart rate of 45bpm. I had assure both of then that rate is pretty much normal for me because of all the cycling I do. Normal is 55 bmp but I suspect that it was that low because I was laying down at the time.
Again thanks for all the answers to my question.

A note for next time:
Passing on what I was advised and tried with good success.
Throw away the terible "flavor packet" that comes with the colon prep. Instead use Crystal Light in any color or flavor except purple or red. NO PURPLE OR RED. I used lemon flavor. Made all the difference for me and others.
Start a day or two early with lots of fruit and water. Most of us are borderline dehydrated most of the time wen we aren't actually riding. Concentrating on lots of water and fruit gets over that.
Worked for the folks who told me and for me.
By the way when I did this and relaxed it was a piece of cake.

it took me a few days to fully recover even though that day I had to rake my roof in a blizzard. congrats on the BPM!
