I ran into a pile bikes and frames last year and have been making up whole bikes from what was scrap. I've been completing them and kicking them from the nest for several months now. I'll come back and post some pics after I meet the standards.

I eventually put sticky back velcro strips inside the chain guard and that tamed the noise. Never could get the seat to be comfortable and eventually sold this bike and bought a recumbent. Still have the recumbent. Bike was very enjoyable on short trips.
