This this is butt ugly! Replaced my too small english 3 speed and the Orbea Cabestany set up for gravel this this beast. What ever this beast it. Found it locally for next to nothing and it was a mess. But after pretty much just doing a basic service, new cables, tires, brake pads, chain, etc it works really well. Really comfortable too if I'm being honest. But yeah, totally, completely, for sure, BUTT UGLY!.

ugly? Well, there's definitely a lot going on. But that fork, I've never seen a suspension fork with stanchions and curved legs

Disagree that this is ugly. In fact, this is a touring/trekking bike that needs to be designed more (maybe in a steel option....)

LOL, yeah I really do know what it is. It's just not the beauty my old Peugeot was that I "trekked" all over Germany when I lived there in the 80's.

I no longer have it. But it was ugly. Very hard to build.
I wish I still had that bottle cage. I really liked it.

curved legs are rather common, though. the short lived rock shox ruby had them, for example. the rst that came on my parkpre hybrid has them....junky as it is. perhaps one day i'll get a much better fork....also with curved legs. they're out there

The ugliness is in the treatment I gave this one two decades ago. It was a mint, original SC and those were the early days where everyone had to 'fix' a frame so I stripped it and eventually moved the parts elsewhere. The seatpost and stem border on repellent.



And then there's this '52 Humber. The chrome is pretty much beyond saving.

My abused, neglected yet always reliable Mirada. Planning to rehabilitate it somewhat this winter. New tires, a new basket for the left side so it isn't so lopsided-looking, get rid of the duct tape, a general cleaning...

I consider this ugly as sin. I bought it sight-unseen from Branford bike. They told me it was red, white and green done "tastefully". Now, I'm 75% Italian and 25% Sicilian, but 100% American and I consider this paint job hideous. Yet, it doesn't stop me from riding it.

Thank you all for the posts/pic's. I guess my mountownie isn't that ugly...just horribly unique and completely neglected and abused. I ride it everywhere being car free. She lives outdoors, besides being lubed regularly it lives a hard life

to me it is not just the paint but how the bike is set-up and that still looks decent enough.

my grand daughter bequeathed me her wrecked Walmart Mongoose when she went and got all grown up and got a car. I took the carcass to the dump, but the bug bit me before i could pitch it, and this is what happened next.

Ugly but useful. My 1989 Rockhopper Comp. $9.88 from a Goodwill. First I did a drop bar conversion on it but it mysteriously fell off my Jeep going 65. The crash bent the rear wheel, destroyed the RH bar end shifter and bent my Nitto B115 bars. I replaced the rim, found some bar ends on Craigslist and put on the Nitto mustache bars. The reach seemed short and position too upright. After some snowy rides I've come to like the new position and wide bars.

i've had that derailleur sitting around since the mid 70's, and as the beer bike is running a "custom" 3 speed cassette with a spacers to use up some spare parts, shifting efficiency is a low priority. well, lower than trying to stay upright on the ride home.

Got this off Craigslist for $45. Sold some of the Campy Triomphe parts for a small profit, put on a 10-speed wheel and other bits to replace them. Need to put on the matching rear fender.
