I am looking for recommendations for a name brand helmet ( not aliexpress etc.. ) with a built in rear light that last at least 5 to 6 hours. I used to use hair ties to hold on the little bike tail lights on my helmet. It was kind of pain to re charge the light. I think it's time to replace my helmet anyways.

I never heard of lumos before. Is it a good brand?

limos has been a good helmet I had their heavy urban one but it got too much without winter headgear. s oI got the latest one they had on kickstarter. they are easy to program with your phone you can even hook a Apple Watch to one to do your turn signals if you use a arm. you can choose how bring the lights are how they flash and such. I use mine as a front flasher so I don't have to have one n each bike.

Did your light last 5+ hours? I don't really plan to use all the flashing features. I just want a rear tail light that can be seen for 5+ hours. I figure my helmet easier to spot high up than my little tail light. Plus lately I have so much other junk hanging under my seat sometimes no room for a light.

yes it goes longer then that. the front is what can eat up the batteries Andy can control its brightness.

I have a Bolle helmet with a red light in back. Not sure if they make it anymore. Darn thing would always turn on when not needed and run out of batteries. It was not rechargeable.

a little update

I bought the one in post #2. The battery lasted 9+ hours. I tend to wear a small or med bike helmet. The only helmet they had for sale was med/large. I thought it would work. Felt fine in the store.
Felt fine for 30 min bike ride. I noticed on longer bike rides my head would start to hurt. I guess that from making it go all the way tight so it does not sit too low. anways I returned it. if it fits your head it looked great and can been seen from a far distance.

I also have one of these helmets. They're fine, but very little ventilation. I used it with a skullcap in winter.
